As winter approaches, Eastern Gray Squirrels start hiding food in many locations, which provides them nutrition through the colder months. They hide more food than they will ever find again, and some of these extra seeds will eventually grow into new trees. Their favorites are definitely nuts, such as acorns, walnuts, and hazelnuts.
