I have a kindergarten student that dresses every day in her own style. Last week she came to school with a dress and cowboy boots along with a paper crown she had made. Another day she wore leggings with rain boots a tee shirt and an apron that she liked. I love her style and her attitude that goes along with it.

āLife is short, why am I not wearing my good clothes.ā This hit me hard. So true!
-
I owned 3 pairs of pants and 4 tops in high school. I will never go back to minimalism. I love my overstuffed closet, like a miser with his gold.
-
For the first time in my almost 60 years I cleared my closet and only have spring/summer hanging in it. I turned the hangers backward so that Iāll know what I did or didnāt wear by the end of August. I will donate what I donāt wear. Itās a step towards cultivating a more streamlined wardrobe. I am looking forward to achieving a smaller and well-defined wardrobe that I love wearing every day. Thank you for showing us how to curate and enjoy such a small but distinct wardrobe. š

In a world full of opinions and noise, you boldly (and beautifully) own your style. That is my favorite thing about you and your channel! š

I am happy that i go to church every Sunday so I do get the chance to wear my lovely dresses and skirts but Ido need to cut them down to a few I really love wearing. Thanks for the advice, and life really is short as i am 78 already !!

There is a young girl that works at the local library and she does stand outā¦.she dresses like she stepped out of the 1940ās. She has a figure like Jane Russell (actress) , she wears the side hats with the one feather, seamed black nylons ā¦skirts and blouses. Red lips and yes the librarian glasses.
-
Some people are dressing better, finally. Itās a very welcome change.
-
I had a French teacher (from France) in college. I think she had two outfits. Always perfectly pressed and tidy, but I think it was two skirts and two blouses.
-
One of my history professors had a formula where she wore the same thing on the same day of the week. I always admired her level of self confidence in not caring that she wore the same dress to all our Tuesday classes. I make a point of dressing well every day, even if no one sees me. I abide by the words of P. J. O'Rourke: "Never wear anything that panics the cat." :)
-
I couldnāt go out and dig up my garden in my fav nice clothes. I guess itās all in what you do in a day.
-
It's so nice to see more people dressing up. I love getting dressed up for church and Bible study, and just to go to the grocery store, it's fun to where my nicer clothes, and I often get compliments. I definitely have more than ten items, and a lot of my things are classics that I found at thrift stores, but I agree life is too short not to where your favorite things.
-
I love the 10 item wardrobe. For me itās more like a 20 item wardrobe because I live in such a varied mountain climate. The method has served me very well for the past decade! I implemented it when my son was born and now he is 10! Time flies when youāre having fun! š
-
If I am just starting to pare down my closet and determine some core items I am in need of, what would be your recommendations of places to shop? I am 56 and do need to watch my budget.
-
I cannot do 10 items, I can do 20 for each season. Watching you share tidbits about your style has made me understand my own style. I am an English teacher and I love to wear pretty unique pieces of clothing that match my glasses. Iām a book ready to be opened. I am very picky and have a great style for each season. I did declutter the closet though and now have more room to see all the pretty things I have!! Thank you
-
Jennifer, I have been watching you and reading your books for years. However, I never took real action steps on the 10 item wardrobe. I have made a little progress in the past, but I keep falling back into old patterns. I am 44, and I dress like I did in 8th grade. š¢ Sweatshirts and jeans. This video felt like the kick I needed.
-
Kudos. There is a huge mental health and confidence boost, which come with wearing beautiful clothing. Overcoming āSaving for goodā is a challenge worth meeting. Live like a Princess.
-
First, I love the ten item or so wardrobe concept. Secondly, I love the jean and shirt outfit , too. For a while I stopped watching your videos. I thought they had a harsh tone to them. Recently, Iāve started watching them again, and enjoying them immensely. Where I differ is wearing your best at home. I like to approach life in a pragmatic way. I dress for my lifestyle. Sometimes videos like these can make women feel bad about themselves and what they wear at home. Most men wouldnāt think twice about what they wear at home. When my husband comes home from work, or works in his office he is definitely in his home clothes. When I come home from work the first thing I do is change my clothes. If I wear nice clothes at home I will often put off doing messy jobs, especially since I have ruined several favorites. Now, when out and about I think itās respectful to dress accordingly, but at homeā¦ Iām like Mr. Rodgersās I like the transition from the outside world to my home world.

Thank you for this video, Jennifer. I need constant reminding because I struggle with dressing nice. I was recently taking out my summer wardrobe and putting away my winter clothes and I realised that I have so many clothes that are too small and I have to give them away. They are all nice clothes that I hardly wore and I just thought to myself, why didnāt I just wear them when they were a good fit and when I liked them. I was āsavingā them for a special occasion whilst spending most of my time at home wearing joggers and an old jumper. Now, they are hardly used and I am giving them away. It is madness.
