I used to get drunk on wine because thats what i was used to. Then i realized there was much more to wine. The hobby behind it. The depth. The nuance. So i switched to bourbon and never looked back.

Another way to up your wine snobbery credits is this fact: The waiter does not let you taste the wine to see if you like it, he lets you taste it to test if it is corked or not. So all your "oooohs, aahhhs and red-fruit caramel hay" don't really matter. It is definitely frowned upon (in al the really snobby places) to have them open a bottle and then you going "no sir, I don't like it."
