“Sir, I got lost on the way to college sir!” Best. Answer. Ever.

0:15 “Did he ever talk about it?” “Sir, only once, sir.” “GOOD, then he wasn’t LYING” Such a good line.
  • Imagine full metal jacket and Jarhead were in the same universe
  • “Sir, I got lost on the way to college, sir!”- well, you done f*cked up.

This movie came out right before I went to boot camp. The recruiters hated it. They said it wasn't accurate. I thought it was the most accurate marine corps depiction I've ever seen
  • 3:07 Despite me being just a conscript, this hits me right in the feels and brings me back to the first week of being at the brigade. From having to carry literally everything you will be using to the veterans (as in people who had been there longer) looking down on you everywhere you go. Man this movie is good.
  • "Joining the Marines might have been a mistake". I had exactly the same reaction about one hour after my arrival at Fort Knox in '69.

Never been a Marine but I can feel the “Why the f*uck did I join moment”

For all those who been through USMC boot camp, looking back, Drill Instructors are actually comedians... very intense, violent, and loud but comedians nonetheless 🤣
  • Love how the actors in the back ground behind the drill instructor while he's yelling at Gyllenhall are trying HARD to not bust a gut laughing listening to him.

Was in the usmc 02-06. This came out right before I got out. After I saw it I was surprised how it showed how accurate military life was like. The boredom, the terminology and losing ur mind really hit me hard

  • @wills5482
This is a weird movie, it's considered anti-war by pro-war people and pro-war by anti-war people. I love it
  • @gainzhurt3-6-9
