I'm working on a video just like this one, called "I Wrote A Screenplay In 48 Years"

That old saying “don’t get it right, get it written” helped me tremendously as well.

2. To write a first draft screenplay in 2 days
3. He brainstorms his story ideas.
4. He begins writing.
5. He's written 35 pages in a day.
6. He is stumped by writer's block on the next day, feeling unsure about the quality of his screenplay.
7. He remembers the true purpose of a first draft, and keeps writing.
8. He finishes his screenplay on day 2.

First Draft: It doesn’t have to be perfect. It just has to exist.

I can’t even come up with a name in that time.

I wrote a screenplay in 48 hours - ahhh a fellow film studies student. I wrote my final screenplay the night before submission

as someone who’s been stuck on writing a screenplay for a big movie concept i’ve had for a while, and has been stuck at 28 pages for about a few months, this rly helped me. It’s given me an inspiration and motivation to achieve my goal.

My friend Tommy wrote his screenplay for "The Room" in about 12 hours!
I'm sure he could give you some tips on speeding things up! 0:)

This isn't just motivating as a writer but as an artist in general, thank you.

I wrote an one act play in six hours. We did a stage reading of it. I’m now editing it and adding more things to it. Thank you for the video, I find knowing the process of other people helpful and inspiring

I'm a pretty young kid, one who doesn't even know the first step of screenwriting. And I'm trying to write my first ever script for my film "Destiny" (sorry for the self promo) and every time I get a bit unmotivated, I rewatch this video and a few of your others. Your videos have really helped me understand how to build a story and characters. Ive just finished my first draft in just under 2 weeks. Thank you for making these videos and inspiring me and a whole lot of other young aspiring filmmakers.

Edit (August 25, 2022): I wrote this comment two years ago and guess what... I'm still doing the same thing. This video is awesome.

Act 1:
Tyler comes up with ideas
He outlines
Act 2a:
he starts the screenplay
He procrastinated
He overcomes procrastination and gets 35 pages done
Act 2b:
Tyler continues writing
He’s worried about getting everything perfect
He is rewriting the first couple pages over and over, he is at his lowest point
Act 3:
Tyler overcomes his character flaw of trying to be perfect through a change arc and remembers what the purpose of the challenge was.
Tyler finishes the screenplay
He then releases a video on it
The end

It takes me at least 5 months and 4 mental breakdowns to even write half a script
