Danish Food & What To EAT in Denmark

It's nice to see foreign people appreciate the things that I truly take for granted

Just saying... Get danish rye bread, liver paté and bacon. Heat the paté and fry the bacon. Put it all together.  Result? Heaven-on-a-slice-of-bread.

food may be more expensive in Denmark, when you eat out.. however that's also why we don't need to tip our waiters, because they get payed well

You should try "Flæskestegssandwich", which is slices of pork roast on a burgerbun with mayo, red cabbage and slices of pickled cucumber. So good.

Denmark is near the border where I reside in Hamburg and so is Netherlands.I have been several times to Denmark.I also like Long Island,Queens,Maine and Bronx in N.Y.. Which has history of various cuisines and so does Puerto Rico.I have also have had different types of foods in India. TONDER AND RIBE in Denmark are my favorite destinations.Copenhagen is hectic and Commercialized.

You cannot visit Denmark without trying our "Stegt flæsk med persillesovs" (Fried pork with parsley sauce). That is, in my opinion, THE best Danish food you can get. Period. :-) In Copenhagen, there is a place called Hansens Familiehave (Hansen Family Garden) located at Pile Allé. They serve traditional Danish food (smørrebrød, pork dishes, fish/herring etc). Go there. You won't regret it.

First up, the supper dishes. - Frikadeller med kold kartoffelsalat. - Frikadeller med brun sovs og hvide kartofler. - Forloren skildpadde. - Forloren harre med brun sovs og hvide kartofler. - Tarteletter (høns i asparges). - Flæskesteg. - Gammeldags grydestegt oksebow med brun sovs og hvide kartofler. - Hakkebøf med brun sovs og hvide kartofler. - Hakkebøf bearnaise. - Boller i karry. - Svinehjerter i flødesovs. - Karbonader med stuvede grøntsager. - Millionbøf med kartoffelmos. - Stegt flæsk med persillesovs. - Blodpølse med sirup og kanelsukker. - Blodpølse med æblemos. - Æbleflæsk. - Stegte ål. - Smørstegt rødspætte. Next up, sweet stuff. - Brunsviger (just keep away from those with cinnamon, found in copenhagen) - Romkugler. - Cocio, chokalademælk. - Salt lakrids (strong licorice, be aware) - Pålægs chokolade. Yes our pastries are amazing, We get them soooo often here and we never gets tired of them. For some it's almost a tradition to get pastries every morning on a Sunday with their breakfast. Love your travel videos. 🇩🇰🇩🇰

This comment is not about the video above but it is a small confession from a devoted fan of your channel. Many times when I talk with some people about travel destinations around the world, I tell them many things about countries that many of them think I've visited them a lot of times. The funny thing is that a lot of the information is taken from your videos. Thank you a lot Mark for the free travels you offer us. Cuisine is such a great way to learn about a country's culture, hope you do one for Italy and France!

One thing I learned to appreciate once, was smoked salmon and horseradish salad. It goes splendedly together. Another thing, is our "Frikadeller" -no n's in the word (I have English friends so I know it's tempting) to me, the frikadelle, goes perfectly well, to our REmoulade (matching a tatar sauce, according to the dictionary)

Went to Demark to try the new nordic cuisine. Outstanding! Also enjoyed other Danish food as well. Wonderful country. The Danes are not stand offish at all. Had some nice conversations and they were very helpful.😮

You need to try "Stegt flæsk med persillesovs" Wont get any better or anymore danish ;)
