This 1949 Willys Jeepster was purchased by my late grandfather in 1958 and painted in 1959. My father remembers driving it in 1975 and it's been in storage ever since! Let's see if we can get it running and back on the road! This one is NOT FOR SALE!! As always, thanks for watching!

  • 2 hour + Mortske episode, better than binge watching Hallmark!😀 Looking forward to this one, always like to see a Willis! Hope you do the pickup someday too!
  • @Paleoman52
So cool to finally meet your Dad! He is about my age. I had a 1947 CJ2A Jeep back in the early 1970's that I kind of restored, well, got running and drove around for a while. This video is quite interesting to me. Brings back lots of early Jeep memories! I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas and a great year ahead.
  • @dustinhedin
Damn near three hours! Man, I don't sit through movies this long! Love the content. This man loves his family. That, above all else, I admire greatly.
  • Good to see you get her running, Morske you probably made your grandpa smile , the jeep is a legend
  • @jesterr7133
Thank you for leaving this one long and not overediting it. I have never seen anyone work on these, and it was nice to be able to see everything. I learned a ton about these in this video, and that's what I watch them for. Thanks again.
  • @spurgear4
Cool to be able to hang out with your dad. Mine passed from cancer over twenty years ago. I still have the old Dodge dart we worked on together.Enjoy your family and Merry Christmas from the west coast of Canadar
  • “Gave her the ole reacharound & she slid right in there!” 😂 The things this man says make my day every Monday. Isn’t “That pretty neat!” 😂😂😂 Enjoy the show my friends!!!!
  • Nothing else is better than a father and his son working on a project together, that's going to say with you forever, don't ever take it for granted.

Not bad at all, the mention of grandpa brought a tear to my eye I wish I could have spent more time with mine. The kindest loving person who would just smile at me and we did spend time together most summers growing up, taught me how to tie my shoes and shave that covers some years. You certainly have a great family my pops is gone so is mom and I just don't have the same interest in life that I once had, not so many years ago. Been through a grip of life changes I'm 8n my 60's, still got a bucket list and some foals I want to occomplish so haven't given up yet. Glad to find your tube man it's cool.

Morty...is a human? Who woulda thunk it? My favorite episode so far! Love love love the family ties! Makes these rigs special. You dont get many like this one...to work on. Restore it and take Dad for a ride...I would love to see that!
  • @mphilleo
Cool Jeep, cool story, love to see it! Mortske, I'm always here for your non-General Motors content. I'm a Jeep and Mopar oddball who enjoys oddball vehicles, so this is up my alley. It's pretty neat to see you discover new things along with us on those obscure makes.
  • Cool to see this as a tribute to your Gramps! Thanks for bringing us into your personal life history Mort. It’s super cool and tugs on a guy’s heartstrings. Public service message: If you’ve still got your gramps, even if he’s imperfect or maybe you don’t always see eye to eye make time to spend with him because he won’t always be around!
  • @DavidGragg82
Pleasure to meet Mr Mortske. Tell pops that thousands (in the future millions)of people are glad you and Duff are on the YouTube’s.
  • Wow! Sounded healthier than my father in law's "built" 350! It sat for only eight years when I helped him get it fired up in his 62 Chevy. Awesome that you have great memories with your grandfather, and spending time with your dad getting the Jeepster running!
  • @drew7767
i’m going to be there tomorrow can’t wait to see it! i was pumped to see this video pop up didn’t think i would see one before races. Your Mom is fearless in that silver vette!
  • Love your show. You and duff are awesome and like all your projects
  • @boblamb8421
Hey Mortske & Duff. That was an outstanding video. Really cool to see you and your dad work together. Lost my dad when I was 19. I am a 1955 vintage by the way. Guess that makes me 2 years older than your dad. That's quite a lineage you have when it comes to hotrods and mechanical stuff in general. I met a guy that owned a Conoco station near where I lived. I was around 13. His name was Donovan Crandall. He was an ace when it came to anything automotive and fabricating. I loved shadowing him. He taught me the trade hands on making mistakes as I learned. By age 14 I was rebuilding engines. My first rebuild was a Ford 272 Y-block. Hand cutting ring ridges and grinding valves and seats and knurling the guides. I even learned how to file down knurled pistons to fit. I've probably changed hundreds of points & condenser sets in my career. I still have the AC Delco dwell meter Don gave me in 1970. Merry Christmas to you and Duff. Thanks.

that thing is worth a trip to a good body shop for paint and interior. it's a collectible for sure. Sounds like your dad wants to restore it. You both seem to have a good sentimental reason to keep it in the family and return it to it's former glory.

This utube was great made think of my grandpa and days of fishing mine was blind so he didn't teach that kind of stuff but I Learned a lot of other stuff from him
