James Charles' Attempt at Redemption & Saving his Career is Failing

You really have to watch the whole video to understand the dm conversation before jumping to conclusions but just to make it crystal clear, I did not reach out to James Charles. I responded to his story joking about putting me on the Pr list before the article came out. I never actually wanted to talk to him or be on it and he’d never responded to me before. I never thought he would respond and when he did I was overwhelmed and put on the spot so I was just trying be neutral and pleasant. It was a conversation that lasted less than like three minutes, with someone who has 15 million followers. For a year and half I detached myself from the YouTube drama space completely, and YouTube as a whole for a year, so I didn’t fully remember all the details of events. After the article came out I went back and watched all my videos I made on the topic and remembered everything so that’s why what I’m saying in this video is a different tone from the dms. I know the dms don’t look good and that’s why I debated making this video for such a long time. But I’d rather be honest and show them, then pretend like it didn’t happen. But I thought I explained that in the video, either way, I do not condone or excuse James Charles behaviour, clearly.

Gotta love when the writer says “there’s no hard evidence” when Charles literally admitted to a lot of this. Even if you think the screenshots are fake, the guy is admitting it. With his own mouth. On camera. Ma’am, are you okay?

I still have a deep feeling that James made some inappropriate comments to Tati’s stepson.

James has lost favor on social media but he has alot of Hollywood friends. He has lots of Drag Race friends and those who have defended him too. That’s why he went the make up artist route. So he can sell to drag queens and his Hollywood friends. It’s really makes me upset to see how he’s using his own queer community just to better his image and sell his brand. It really proves James isn’t stupid. It’s pretty easy to NOT message and send nudes to minors. He knew there wouldn’t be consequences.

Im an elder millenial (39) who doesn't wear makeup and isnt a journalist. At MINIMUM, since day 1, I could tell you at least one of James Charles's allegations and name Tati Westbrook, as well as how Shane and Jeffy Starfish were involved. This 'journalist' has no excuse.

Another thing to note is that grooming includes desensitising children to sexual behaviour over time such as “sending and requesting suggestive photos” and talking about sexual things with children to normalise these topics. He may say he was just flirting but for someone who absolutely social media stalks the people he was chatting with, how did he miss that some of them had their age in their bios on TikTok or their posts about junior highschool.

I can’t tell if this writer always writes like this or if she’s passive aggressively writing so convolutedly because she’s bitter that she’s been assigned a puff piece and wants to cover up how vapid it is. At least she didn’t call James’s accusers out by name and call them jealous stalkers, but I feel like that’s putting the bar under the floor.

So, what James meant by saying "groomer" is a buzzword is true. "Groomer" and grooming allegations are being used by Republicans in a pretty willy-nilly way in U.S. politics right now as a way of targeting trans folks and LGBTQ people. The trans side of it relates to gender affirming care for trans kids, but a lot of the LGBTQ targeting is going after drag shows, sex ed, and schools having teachers or books/media refer to LGBTQ people as, you know, existing. Because apparently in these people's minds, telling children that gay and trans people exist and it's okay is the same thing as grooming them to be those things and just grooming in the traditional sense. It also probably ties into the Qanon stuff since that's all centered around child trafficking. So James does have a point, but he really shouldn't have made it since he is an actual groomer regardless of his sexuality.

I believe James thought he’d get away with this behavior forever and be a manipulative creep forever. Like dating someone who isn’t 16 isn’t that damn hard! Lol

He’s just upset he got caught so early in his career. We’re in a time where things like that just aren’t swept under the rug anymore and it’s called out. One thing I definitely love about this generation. He was never really canceled anyway, otherwise he would have gone away. Instead he’s just upset that he’s not as popular as he thinks he should be. He’s an attention whore and bugs him that people know he’s a creep. And apparently he’s still seeking out young boys.

The situation sucks so much, because the ones who lied about their age just to get a video would completely overshadow the ACTUAL victims in a court room. If this ever goes to trial, i'm afraid James would win the case. The law doesn't exactly work in the victim's favor and James' lawyer could easely manipulate the situation and turn it in his favor. In many countries, the parents of the underage kids would actually face some concequences instead of James. IMAGINE THAT! I'm disgusted by James but at the same time, do not lie about your age online, you never know who you're speaking to and how they can use the lie against you.

Babes, as a journalism major, I can confidentially tell you it’s not you ; this article was messy from start to finish and the excessive usage of vocabulary and out of context synonyms is often a sign of “fluffing up” the piece, which basically just means throwing random words around and rewriting sentences into these long winded phrases, mainly to have the article appear more “professional” (which there’s clearly none of, the bias is blatantly clear, which a proper and respected journalist would ensure their piece has none of)

Those clips of him hitting on the strait guys made me so incredibly uncomfortable and it reminds me of all the creepy older men who speak to and interact with young girls like that. Ive had my fair share of run-ins with gross men who think acting like that is funny. I feel bad for the twins he used to hang out with.
