The extendable light is cool — however, I wouldn’t want to pull into a backcountry camping spot and see three or four other campers all using them. Would start to look like a Walmart parking lot

What a cool take on camping! I could see families with kids loving this style, as well as bringing guests who aren’t into “roughing it” but still want to connect with nature. That fridge is insanely power efficient, couldn’t believe it when you said the battery didn’t drop below 90%!

For me, watching a movie is the opposite of being in the moment in wilderness. I love the silence. I've camped in remote desert locations in the winter and I get it about the long periods of darkness. I've brought a laptop to write, but my writing is about where I am and there's no sound beyond the keyboard. It leaves me free to listen to the night sounds, or to take a spontaneous walk under the stars.

I do recommend stackable tool box systems for storage as they are sturdy, dry, and well engineered but best of all they are half the price or less than overland boxes.
  • Say what you want but now that I have a kiddo I love car camping. Best of both worlds. Also highly recommend Sidio crates. I need a goal zero power station, I’ve put it off forever.

It would have been much more exciting if the sink had been a hot tub - that's what it looked like in the preview. Next project!
  • Be cool to know which products were given for free or have affiliate/discount kick backs. I know you mentioned it on a few of them. But it's very easy to recommend a product when it's free or earns you money.

Love this! I sold my huge 1972 Streamline and am back to backpacking and car camping. But I really miss a hot water sink and have been thinking of building one.

The Wolfpack looks cool, there are a few things like Collapsible crates and other containers with an optional "front entrance" that I'd been looking into. (So, they can stack into an actual cabinet system) also, in terms of the awning, I was looking at some things similar from Australia (earlier) and also some d.i.y. items. Thanks for posting this, I keep digital window-shopping and you just saved me some time and added some cost/benefit analysis ideas.

Hey mate, bit of a recommendation from an Aussie. Get a fridge cage it will make using the storage space so much easier. You can stack around it and on it attach things to the side. Things won't fall behind and stop it sliding back in. You might think it would limit your storage by taking up space but it does the opposite
  • The Frontrunner bins are great, I have 2. But man I hate the latches! They are a tight snap, prone to break and you have to undo 4 of them to get in the bin. I'm in and out of our bins too frequently for that. Really with they made a hinged lid w lighter latches for these. Love the idea behind the sink, but have come to realize over the years that clever engineering usually takes up too much space and power, and water stuff for some reason is one that most overlanders usually over engineer. Gravity works everywhere and there are a lot of ways to get a small collapsable bin under a water tank w a spigot. Adding the drain hose is still a great idea though.
  • Elephant tusk campsite is perfect for people that want to park and camp there and hike up into the mountains. It seems like a different campsite would be more suitable for your entertainment style of camping.

I just clicked this by accident and found an awesome new channel lol well I don’t even remember what I was supposed to click so I’ll stay haha ❤
  • @AbouttheJourney
Very cool! Love the sink and the light! Bummer about the projector. We like to watch movies too during winter camping months.
  • @AdventureOtaku
Okay, most of this stuff, I was like… that’s cool…but no. But the sink you built!? AWESOME! So good. Well done.
  • @peterkerekes4888
All of my respect. Second video I saw from you and I got a firm handshake(like, sub). The camping sink made by you it's brilliant!
  • @jesserevilla992
Pretty cool and great gear head camping; yet so much stuff to basically do the same thing as if you were to have a tiny camper which is capable of getting into back country. Which I have seen personally. Yes a small camper has a cost 💲 but seeing all your gear has a cost as well. Don’t get me wrong, to each his own style of camping. And not having to hitch a trailer is better for some. Yet not into many contraptions; when I leave my home I want less stuff and a small camper has everything compartmentalize already for me, like a sink, head and water tanks etc…you are very informative and produce a great vlog with interest thank you.
