About us:
We're Jack & Megan, and in late 2020 we sold our belongings and packed our lives into our 2005 Toyota Troop Carrier to travel Australia. Our original plan was to complete a full lap of Australia and return home to Perth to resume our 'normal' lives. We decided we wanted to document our lap for the future and began sharing weekly travel vlogs of our life on the road and fell in love with filmmaking and sharing our lives with you. We completed our first lap and couldn't imagine living any other way so we decided to continue travelling and calling the Troopy home. We have gone on some crazy adventures since then and it is all thanks to you tuning in to join us eve

I truly admire the work you are doing on Myrtle. From your comments you carefully plan and learn about each step. Like us all, you also learn through your bloopers! That farm has some beautiful scenery and stunning sunsets.
  • As an Electrician (Cain) I think you have done a bloody good job. Well done.

Just bought my first caravan for 2.8k. Found you guys when trying to learn how to restore it and now I live for these videos. I was pumped when I saw this one this morning
  • Tip for using silicone use a paddle pop stick dip in water regularly to stop it spreading everywhere

I always install solar panels on an alloy frame so as to allow air flow under them. You need at least 25mm under the panels UNLESS you rig a fan to blow air under them. If they get hot, they lose efficiency, and they lose far more output than it takes to run a couple of fans blowing filtered air under each the row of panels--and what is more, it will keep the interior of your van a LOT cooler, so I have blowers and duct the air from a master filter, which is just a motor vehicle air filter bought at Super-cheap.
  • Love these videos......even the electrical system ones that confuse the living daylights out of me within the first 5 minutes.....glad its you not me Jack, I'd end up frying the fam. Im excited to see the interior start to come together now that the electric system is installed. Congrats on reaching 50K too.

So impressed at what you guys are doing. I can confidently say I would never be able to convert a van on my own and do what you have done. You have put in so much research and work and it really shows. Oh, and congrats with the bundle being named after you - how cool!
  • Well done. You should be very proud of yourselves getting all that electrical system completed and working. 👏
  • Another cracking episode guys! Solar Panelling looks amazing. Jack's an absolute natural at this stuff!
