  • In 2023, Bolivia severed diplomatic ties with Israel again in response to its war in Gaza, which resulted in the deaths of over 8,500 Palestinians. This decision was seen as a strong condemnation of Israel’s actions and a show of solidarity with the Palestinian people. Bolivia’s President Luis Arce urged the United Nations Security Council to “prevent the genocide of the Palestinian people and pave a definitive solution for Palestine to exercise its right to self-determination”.
