How I built my own NIR Red Light Therapy setup

Published 2022-08-17
Once we realize the benefits of red light therapy, its time to buy something that meets our needs. I created another video a few years ago to explain red light in general    • Introduction to Red Light Therapy wit...

I started with a very cheap reflector and single bulb which lasted me a year before feeling the need to upgrade. But during this time I learned a few things about where I wanted to sit or lay down while using the lights which helped me decide how to upgrade. Here is the cheap reflector, but the product link seems to change often amzn.to/3Pv5eAw

Microphone spring arm amzn.to/3dCDVqS

4 pack of bulbs which has managed to more than double in price amzn.to/3bWXA4p

"T-Bar" stand I use which is no longer available, but Amazon gives other similar options amzn.to/3QNIRaD

The Par-38 "can" I used is available on Amazon now amzn.to/3dvycCZ

The timer I use amzn.to/3SW0GGe

The 4-way splitter I use amzn.to/3PAt79U

Cable ties amzn.to/3pnOjp9

Really appreciate this, thank you! Way too many salesmen videos...And giving us all sorts of ideas and suggestions ❤👍👍👍
  • This will be one of my next projects, thanks for the nice ideas, will have to see what I can lay my hands on for the rig.

Where do you get the blue light glasses that go over your glasses? Is there a brand you recommend. We use the Luciaeyes from Dr Kruse recommendation, but my one daughter wears glasses so these would be cool to go over hers. Thanks. Great video!
  • Thanks for another video Micah. What are the main benefits you have observed from red light therapy?

What spectrum does the Ruby Lux bulb pump out that you don’t prefer? Does the industrial bulb not pump that same spectrum out? I’m new to this and have one 250 watt Ruby Lux so far, but am getting ready to order several more bulbs so I can make a stronger setup. I want to order the best bulbs, but also diy this as cheaply as possible. Do you feel like those stage lights are better than the metal and ceramic light holders with the clamps? I know you said you had to already replace some parts inside them. I’m wondering how they compare to the metal ones usually recommended. I appreciate your input. I started using red light therapy this past week and already notice a difference in how I feel and how my skin is looking after every session. I’m excited to see long term benefits as I go on! 😊

hi, awesome setup and super helpful video! im looking to replicate the desk setup. one question though, you mentioned that the par38-can is not equipped to handle a 250 watt light shining for more than a few hours? do you have to turn your desk par38-can on/off every 2-3 hours so it doesn't overheat?

Thank you. Is it the red light bulbs that are no longer available?
