We work around the clock to sort all this issues out on the Golden Eye Chieftain Tank ready for the show (Operation Market Harborough) this weekend.

We Plan to have 6 Chieftain Tanks on display no other show in the Country can do this.

"the l60 is actually a really good and reliable engine," and "This is a brilliant gearbox in every single way,"

I admire your patience and resisting the urge just to go down the pub 😃

Thank you for the monumental efforts to get so many Chieftain's (and a flag) to the OMH show. It was a sight and sound to see. Absolute respect.

Fantastic Lads and lasses! well done for sorting that out! (it gets me that the old chieftains get such a lot of stick for poor performance and yet look at how with a bit of patience it over came the neglect of decades in the rain to run once again! ) Cans of cider all round!
  • Chieftain with its TN12 and Leopard-1 with its ZF 4HP 250 were the first production tanks equipped with a solenoid operated valve body

This must be the first time we have seen you eating proper food (well not cake and crisps) . Top work and childish banter got to love a Mr Hewes video .
  • Superb effort in getting all 6 Chieftains together . Ted looking as Regal as ever . Thanks for another cracking video , much appreciated .

I did that to an Abbot gun to keep it firing on NATO exercise and then tidied up the wiring afterwards. Never missed a shot on call. You do what you have to to keep it all going!
  • @DIVERBLOKE1
You now seem to have access to more armour than the British army. Well done.

I like how the first and last road wheels on Goldeneye are not even touching the ground while the vehicle is driving lol.

Made me smile watching the concrete tank move and roll up onto the transport Raised a eye brow seeing how much smaller the T72 is when loading 😮
  • I thought you were going to be on a losing battle when you removed that cover, but with Ted on hand to guide you it worked like a charm.
  • Adam certainly has a nice touch on the tillers loading the T 72 well done it seems to be a bit of a agricultural old cow

I love watching you dismantle gearbox hydraulics. When you first saw the mess that was supposed to be working, I wondered if you had any spares that you could swap out,to get out of the problem but as usual, you decided there and then to begin the strip of terror. Then you started to persuade the various solenoids to move on their own with copious applications of WD, to all but one which required heavier persuasion than normal and next thing we knew you were sorting a little gremlin, and all works. SUPERB ENGINEERING!!!!! I know people think you're ham fisted ,but sometimes a suitable amount of "hit it hard" does the job. Who knows how these m/c's were treated on site/in working conditions. You do what you have to,to get a good result. Thanks guys for the experience you put us through. BCNU next time.
  • Loving the sardonic, withering looks of Mr Best, my daughter looks at me like that, total contempt : )
