How did they never take over America with rocking tunes like these?

I was 14 in 1973. A mate from down the road and I caught the train into Brisbane city to see our first concert August 1, 1973. Status Quo. We were about 5 rows from the front left of center. Couldn't believe how loud it was, or the number of hot girls there. I was trance like watching Rick Parfitt, who at the time was the coolest dude on the planet in my eyes. He was wearing a red coca cola t-shirt and faded blue jeans....and his long hair was more blonde that usual. I spent the next 10 years trying to look like Parfitt.

The vibes in this version are pure magic!! If you play in a band, no matter which instrument, you know what I am talking about!

Having grown up with this music, I can can honestly state that my youth years were never ever wasted. The Quo of the 70s was simply magnificent.

Status Quo have long been underrated as a band....they deserve much more credit than they get.

There is a point in every bands career that they peak, i think there is no dispute that what we are viewing here is the Quo at their very very best, you don't even have to like them as a band to appreciate how good this performance is.

Brilliant song. Quo very underrated for their contribution to Rock n Roll.

Best Quo tune by far, it's only when I watch this and actually see him I realise the intricacies that John Coghlan brought to this tune. Amazing drummer, amazing song by an amazing band. Thanks for the 42.5 years of rocking.

I had the pleasure of seeing them live in Melbourne in 1979. (showing my age now!). Had front row seats and it is one of the greatest shows I have ever seen
  • This band would've had to have an influence in the metal songs. They have a kick ass groove.

First ever band seen live and it was awesome. Loved them since Hammersmith in the 70's and always will.
  • @hgwman
Never in the history of Rock N Roll was so much owed,by so many,to so few, long live Quo.

THIS song shows you just how good the quo really were. They are 'loose' but at the same time sooo 'tight'. I mean just look at the lads here? Totally into it. I really dont know why the drummer and the bassist were made to leave the band. But to many die-hard quo fans, THIS collection of fella's will always be.... THE Quo. RIP to Alan and sincere best wishes to the loved ones he has left behind. x
