Thank you Felix! I'm finally getting started with wanting to expose my music for the world to listen so this video of your was very helpful :) Have a great day!
  • Nice and instructive video! (: Had to go through this process a little while back.
  • @Daumat_

Hope that was helpful : ) Let me know if you have any questions, and I'll do my best to help out. Also, apologies for the shaky camerawork.
  • @andreita09
thank you for this video!!! you helped me so much

Wait but if you've already submitted your song through Distrokid to streaming services, how will you be able to apply for editorial playlists? I guess you'd set the release date to at least 4 weeks in the future so you have enough time to go through these steps? Apologies if I'm missing something haha
  • @raycharles704
How do you get access to your artist account if you already published a song
  • Hi! So quick question, while i do have a Spotify account for listening to music, I have not made one for my actual music (im assuming this is the artist profile you talk about), does distrokid automatically create your profile when you distribute with them? Or is this video describing that once you distribute with distrokid (release music), and once spotfiy has processed your music, you can claim/create you're profile from the uri looker upper?
  • @Wal-DarkWater
Thanks, it might be worth noting (for folk like me) - you don't mention that you need a regular Spotify account to access this . I waited 2 weeks (as I did not have a Spotify account) & I'm patient - as soon a I registered for an account I got to the claim artist page. Without that is just asks you to log in so had thought it wasn't ready to claim

This stuff needs deep explanation so thanks. Currently about to release my first track of my solo album but I have just found out that my band page, with 5 albums on it, that I am the sole owner of and writer, has been claimed and there is literally zero info or help I can get on this. I find it maddening. About to join distrokid for my first single release and hoping I can resolve it once I am technically a spotify artist...curious if you have any tips. This all should not be this difficult. Going to be sure I get my solo page claimed.
  • Yep. Really helpful. A new string to your musical bow, in 'how to' video's? Good move...;0). Just listened to your Spotify...Lovely. Sweet Dreams from a Cactus Field in the UK :yougotthis:
  • @rachelkayx
Hey! Appreciate the video :) so far I'm only seeing the upc code for my upcoming album but I do not see the like, list of stuff. e.g how it says album, tracks and artists for you. None of that is there, will that come eventually so I can claim my spotify artists profile? Thank you :)
  • @wazya6531
Very helpful video mate, but what if my first song is a song where I’m the feature on it? How I do it then?
  • @Sk1ppeR_
Hello, I wanted to ask about the profile. My first song was a feature and when I try to claim it it only shows the feature slot it doesn’t show my name as a solo artist how can i fix that so i can claim my spotify artist account as a solo artist
  • So we can actually open spotify account only by claiming the song we submitted to distrokid? Nd also everytime when i need to upload a song in spotify, i have to do it through distrokid??
