Britain is a nation of dog lovers, but what happens when domestic bliss turns to chaos? Luckily, there's someone you can call. Master dog trainer, Graeme Hall is on a mission to restore harmony across the country. He has built his reputation on finding quick but long-lasting fixes to almost any unwanted dog behaviour, helping to train over 5000 canines (and 1 fox!) and their owners. His mantra is clear: "Any Dog, Any Age, Any Problem."

  • If your dog refuses to behave perhaps it’s because you haven’t learned not to reward him for that bad behavior. Even looking at your dog is telling him that you like what he’s doing. Don’t give your dog mixed signals! If he is being a good boy this is when you talk to him, pet him and look at him. But if he misbehaves, anything directed at him beyond “No!” and the lead jerk says you are happy with his behavior.

Oh wow. This is probably one of the most bizarre cases in the whole series. It seems this dog has to stand in as a replacement baby for the child they do not (yet) have. They carry the dog around like a little toddler. Being extremely emotional towards the dog surely doesn’t help. It seems they don’t even realize they are humanizing the dog. Petting the dog when it is misbehaving, asking the dog motherly to be quiet instead of giving a command, and the overall failure of leadership all makes it all worse. The dog terrorizes them and what they are most afraid of is him having anxieties. “I don’t like to see him in distress. It’s heartbreaking!” and “It stops us wanting to go away” are the two key self-revealing sentences. Sometimes it can be so simple. In this case, when you ask yourself what it is they get wrong exactly, it is a very simple answer: everything.

Have you seen Walter George on YouTube? He isn't in distress ... So he needs you people to be human alpha leaders of the dog pack. Get strong people. He needs an alpha pack human leader to twll him what to do. Sorry. Dog problems are always owner problems. Sorry. Buck up and lay the law down. Learn to do it now. Break his cycle. Your trainer is too laid back. Keep him on a leash all day now and grab the leash when hw starts out barking. Dont let him get away with the howling and barking. Use a real chain traing collar. He has to feel your leadership through the leash as you tighten by "tugging a direct snap" ... He'll feel your leadership and tell him at the same time NO BARKING! YOU NEED TO GET BOSSY. GOOD LUCK.
