At one point, scouts thought that Taulia Tagovailoa could be better than his older brother Tua Tagovailoa, but flash forward half a decade and despite putting up huge numbers at Maryland, Taulia Tagovailoa does not seem to have a great chance at having an NFL career and is slated near the bottom of most mock drafts. Today, I want to talk about why this is happening, how Taulia got to this point and his college career, enjoy!

His last name is the only reason he was a "big time" prospect. He knew he wasn't going to be drafted, the reason he wanted another year of eligibility.
  • As a Maryland fan, I just never saw the talent against the good teams. I think it's the fact that he is not as athletic as a Kyler Murray at his size that held him back.

I love that at around the 2:30 mark you say he left Hawaii for the States.

I dont know a lot about this guy, but i can say one thing, when he played Nebraska last season, i saw a guy with a lot of heart that kept fighting and won the game. Props to that dude.

Anybody who said he was better than Tua never watched him play. Dude doesn’t have the arm talent to be in the NFL. I could see him playing in the UFL.

Keep up the grind!! Rlly enjoying these last few videos. A video on Dylan Morris would be pretty cool. I grew up around the area he went to school at and I remember him being a 4 or 5 star recruit. Was looking forward to what he could do at UW but ig things jus didn’t pan out

I feel like you have to watch every game like us maryland fans to understand how good he is. he is NOT trash bro, he can 100% play NFL football

Best Tagovailoa athlete was Fano T. He was a freak athlete who played for Utah. Wish TT all the best. Great family.

Oh man, I graduated from Thompson so crazy to hear you say that name

Welcome to Seattle! Hopefully he shows off his talent and secured the QB3 position
  • @jok3r906
He was compared to his brother, rather than letting him be himself... Along with the size factor

He really wasn't considered a phenom coming out of HS. He didn't have near the same hype as his brother. Tua was the elite 11 MVP and #1 dual threat QB. Taulia was 180th overall which is like mid tier 4 star.

bro you’re acting like he had extensive years in the big 10 which would contribute to the reason he has 12,000 passing yards. He only played 4 years at maryland and a few snaps at bama

I think that he will be in the UFL next year. He can still work his way into an NFL opportunity in the future if he can get the right coaching.
  • Seattle is bringing him in for a tryout at rookie minicamp, so he still has a shot.
  • Thanks for the info. Seahawks are trying him out. We’ll see what happens.

I watched him all 3 years at College Park and he definitely had his moments. The Penn State game his sophomore year. He was 41/57 371 yards. The next week he threw for over 400.. The 2 interceptions in 2023 vs Michigan sunk him. They were in that game the entire way. His turnovers killed them. That ended his NFL chances.
