Ventura (CA) junior Sadie Engelhardt traveled to Boston University for the 2024 Bruce Lehane Scarlet & White Invitational and showed out against the collegians, running 2:41.00 to win the women's 1,000m.

That puts Engelhardt at U.S. No. 4 all-time for high school girls in the indoor 1k.

    A few weeks ago Sadie committed to NC State (she is in the class of '25). This year the Pack is picking up Bethany Michalak and Jessie Jazwinski, and they already have Angelina Napoleon, Kate Putman, Leah Stephens, JoJo Quarzo, Grace Hartman and Hannah Gapes. WOW. Can't wait for Sadie to hop on board. Go Pack!
  • The following day after this, Sadie won the high school mile in 4.34.45.......a national indoor record I think. Mary Cain ran a crazy 4.28 mile whilst still in high school but was a pro at the time. Pros don't count
