FYI: this is NOT a remake of the original movie, it is an adaptation of the tony award winning broadway musical version. the musical is much more closer to the book than the original movie. the musical is vastly different from the original so there is nothing to worry about. this movie will be its own thing. this new version and the original are two completely different movies. both can co-exist without diminishing the other. i think this movie will be amazing and i have no doubt in my mind that it will be a huge success

Halle Bailey literally went from singing songs at home on YouTube with her sister, to starring in two of the biggest movies of the year. How incredible, what a gorgeous cast of black excellence. 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾👏🏾

The whole cast lineup is amazing, but tbh I'm mainly excited to hear Fantasia sing again. I got emotional just hearing her sing in this trailer.

Whew. The way Fantasias voice came in, the eyes welled up and my goosebumps raised. She should have won a TONY for her portrayal and she better not get robbed for her Oscar.

Fantasia having her full-circle moment! She totally deserves it! Love her!!

Saw this movie today. Didn’t even know Fantasia could act. This was a phenomenal take/musical. They did an outstanding job. I loved it so much.

I’m over here freaking out. I hope this movie gives my girl Fantasia all the praise and recognition she’s been so deserving of for so long. Can’t wait.
  • If Fantasia don't sing!!! I remember when she performed this song at the Tony Awards. One of my favorites of hers ever 🤗🙏🏾

Fantasia had me crying all through the film. She is a phenomenal singer and actress. Her voice seems a little deeper and just as incredible as ever. I love her so much. I pray she wins an Oscar. She so deserves it 🙏🏽

I mean... Fantasia is just gold... She deserves the world, I feel like I'll cry like a baby on the theater
  • God I hope they give Fantasia room to shine in this movie, she's got the potential to give an Oscar worthy performance here. If this movie is as good as this trailer implies, I expect nothing short of perfection from her. She has the talent and the voice and charisma to pull it off.
  • I never thought i would see Fantasia step back into this iconic role! I’m seeing this for this ensemble
  • @amandamckenna
Wow…that was THE best movie I’ve seen. Period. Not usually a big fan of musicals, but the music in this was brilliant. I’m astonished that it hasn’t garnered more award nominations. And this isn’t a black thing: I’m a 64-year-old white Aussie and it was just the best thing I’ve seen in years.

Fantasia's vocals just gives me, the chills. What a very anointing voice, she has. && they have all the best actors and actresses, in this movie. I'm so excited and I can't wait to see it!!
  • People were so worried about Halle playing Ariel... Meanwhile, she snuck an entire movie in without us even knowing! 😂 I love you Halle! ❤
  • @XAYMACAWORLD
I pray that this opens the doors of super stardom for Fantasia. She deserves it, she's worked so hard and I want the best for her
  • @norijean3279
Fantasia and Halle are the nation's best singers right now. They have the soulfulness of Whitney Houston. I'm glad seeing Halle getting so much work and lighting up the screen with her divine presence. And Fantasia has been so underrated - she is The Voice. 👑🙏🏻❤
