Daphne search spray foam dome finishing solutions. Hopefully that will answer your questions. We sprayed foam on that roof and coated it with tan acrylic.

how well does this "spray foam" roofing work? I am considering using this on a future geodesic dome build.(wanting to stay away from traditional roofing methods) my concern is cracking as the dome panels shift slightly over time. there is over 700ft of "joint" to potentially move. what kind of underlayment should be used if any? most of the dome will be mostly vertical (like an angled wall) and what about flashing the joints?

What is this stuff. Is it strong enough to walk over them holes?

why not add a color to the final coat of sealer to help see any missed spots?
  • I live in S Florida and have a 1971 built concrete house - block walls and 6" slab decks and slab roof with elastomeric white roof coating. Zero Insulation. I have solar panels on stanchions and they are trapping heat between the panel and the roof, and the heat is passing through the roof. I've thought about laying tpo under the solar panels, but the time to cut/fit around all the stanchions, wiring, etc. is daunting. I'm wondering if a layer of spray foam insulation, topped with elastomeric roof paint might offer a solution. Any insight, experience, comments, welcomed.

Do you have to separate lines or purge the foam before switching to polyurea

  • @ulcinjapartments
Can you apply this to the concrete roof ? What is the price per Sq. meter ?

Hey Wayne, when you transition from foam , to urea is there a flushing procedure or do you switch tanks and just spray till you get the diff product ? Looks great

There is a company in Holland called Prokol with a UK arm (Eco Prokol) who do this and give a 30 year guarantee. They use a UV stable topcoat that the sun doesn't affect. I'm using it to cover a 4500m2 water tank for the Water Industry and they demand SERIOUS quality control. Only the Dutch company managed to satisfy them. Having got it approved they are now ordering it for another three tanks (all over 1500m2 each) and are looking at it for a major new reservoir.

where can I buy a machine like that?? what's its trademark??
  • Most of these coatings ate 100% solids, no VOC's , the big machine in the trailer is a PLURAL COMPONENT pump, it heats the materials up to thin them out in order to spray them instead of adding thinner like acetates or any other solvent, so not a big deal to not wear a respiration in a well ventilated area such as a roof!
