More about Sonic the Hedgehog:
Sonic the Hedgehog is the title character and the protagonist of the Sonic the Hedgehog video game series published by Sega, as well as numerous spin-off comics, animations, and other media. Sonic is a blue anthropomorphic hedgehog who can run at supersonic speeds and curl into a ball, primarily to attack enemies. In most games, Sonic must race through levels, collecting power-up rings and avoiding obstacles and enemies.

Programmer Yuji Naka and artist Naoto Ohshima are generally credited with creating Sonic. Most of the games are developed by Sonic Team. The original Sonic the Hedgehog (1991) was released to provide Sega with a mascot to rival Nintendo's flagship character Mario. Sonic was redesigned by Yuji Uekawa for Sonic Adventure (1998), with a more mature look designed to appeal to older players.

Sonic is one of the world's best-known video game characters and a gaming icon. His series had sold more than 80 million copies by 2011. In 2005, Sonic was one of the first game character inductees into the Walk of Game alongside Mario, Link, and Master Chief

In Sonic 3 & Knuckles there are 14 Emeralds. The Chaos Emeralds and the Super Emeralds. They're 2 separate sets. 15 if you count the unobtainable Master Emerald.
  • @cryonixx8277
Sonic adventure 2 only had 6 playable characters, while battle had 12
  • Are there 15 chaos emeralds though Because there are seven chaos emeralds seven super Emeralds in the master Emerald so that’s 15
  • Technically Amy debuted in a short manga that came out before Sonic CD, though she was brown and her name was spelled Eimy.
  • @lehikot7600
In regards to the SA2 quesiton I know it's already been said but SA2 (I.e. OG on dreamcast) only has 6 playable characters and no multiplayer mode. SA2 Battle has the additional 6 characters of Tikal, Chaos, Neutral Chao, Evil Chao, Metal Sonic, Amy Rose in multiplayer mode. The multiplayer mode was exclusive to SA2 Battle.

Modern sonic in the thumbnail but they were all classic questions
  • I've noticed a lot of people in the comments seem to be confused about the answers to these questions. None of them are "wrong" per se, but there are some that have kind of tricky answers that might make you think they're wrong. So I'm gonna go through the answers one by one here, just to hopefully alleviate any more confusion. 1. Knuckles. The game misspelled his name as Knucles, without the second K. 2. Okay, this is the first one that a lot of people are complaining about. The answer IS eight. Let me explain. You have to pay attention to the wording of the question. It asks how many DIFFERENT emeralds there are. In the Sonic 3 part of the game, you obtain seven Chaos Emeralds. When you arrive in the Sonic & Knuckles part of the game, those seven Chaos Emeralds are transformed into Super Emeralds. It is the SAME SET of seven Emeralds, just in a different form. There aren't two separate sets of seven Chaos Emeralds and seven Super Emeralds, there is ONE SET of seven Chaos Emeralds that BECOMES a set of seven Super Emeralds. Same Emeralds, different form. I know I'm repeating myself a lot, but I want to make sure I convey this point as best as I can. So seven Chaos/Super Emeralds, plus the Master Emerald, makes eight in total. If you're still confused, think about how Sonic transforms into Super Sonic. Sonic and Super Sonic aren't two different characters, they're one character with two separate forms. Same deal with the Chaos Emeralds and Super Emeralds. 3. Let's go through the options. Sonic Heroes - Yes, he was the main antagonist and serves as the final final boss of the game in his Metal Madness and Metal Overlord forms. Throughout the game he goes by Neo Metal Sonic, but the ending confirms it is the same Metal Sonic. Sonic R - Yes, he's an unlockable character. You can obtain him by collecting the Sonic Tokens in Resort Island, then beating him in a one-on-one race. Sonic Adventure - This brings up a problem with this quiz which is also why a lot of people say the questions are wrong. This quiz seems to use "Sonic Adventure" and "Sonic Adventure 2" to refer to both the original games AND the enhanced ports (i.e. Sonic Adventure DX and Sonic Adventure 2: Battle - both of which had content that wasn't in the original versions of the games). Metal Sonic can be unlocked as a playable character in Sonic Adventure DX by obtaining all 130 Emblems. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 - No. The Sonic robot you fight in this game is named Mecha Sonic, who is not the same as Metal Sonic. 4. Collision Chaos. You see her get captured by Metal Sonic at the end of the level. 5. Death Egg Zone, which is in Sonic & Knuckles (technically Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Sonic & Knuckles are two halves of one game, but they were released as two separate cartridges so people often count them as two separate games, and this quiz apparently is no different). Death Egg Zone is the final stage in Sonic & Knuckles for Tails and the penultimate stage for Sonic assuming the player has collected all seven Chaos/Super Emeralds. 6. Again, the quiz is using "Sonic Adventure 2" to refer to both the original game and the Sonic Adventure 2: Battle enhanced port. The twelve characters are Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, Eggman, Rouge, Amy, Chaos 0, Tikal, Big, Metal Sonic and Chao Walker, the latter six of whom appear in the Sonic Adventure 2: Battle exclusive two-player mode. Admittedly this one is a bit misleading because it says "Does not include downloadable extras for the kart race events", but again, wording is important here. The kart race event had two extra downloadable characters in the Dreamcast version, those being Eggrobo and Omochao, so the question wasn't including those characters. 7. Yep, you can get all seven Chaos Emeralds in Emerald Hill Zone if you're good enough. The Zone has a very fitting name, huh? 8. Getting all A Ranks in Sonic Heroes unlocks Super Hard Mode, a mode in which you play through harder versions of Team Sonic's levels. 9. The first hand-held Sonic game was the Game Gear port of Sonic the Hedgehog which was released in 1991. 10. The ending theme to Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is an instrumental version of the song "Sweet Sweet Sweet" by Japanese band Dreams Come True. Nakamura Masato, the composer for the game, was the bassist for the band. The band wrote the song for the game. Fun fact - they originally wrote it as a love song between Sonic and Tails, as they (like many people at the time) mistakenly thought that Tails was a girl. A version of the song in English titled "Sweet Dreams" was later released, but the original Japanese song is called "Sweet Sweet Sweet". There. I hope that makes things clearer for everyone. This might be the longest comment I've ever written...
  • The ending theme for sonic 2 is called sweet dreams by the band called dreams come true, not sweet sweet sweet

  • I got 4 right. In Sonic 3 and Knuckles, weren't there 14 emeralds? The Chaos Emeralds, which turn Sonic into Super Sonic, and the seven more powerful emeralds, called the Master Emeralds or something, which turn Sonic into Hyper Sonic. Or maybe the Chaos Emeralds changed into them. I don't know.
  • @Jellyman4
