I built a CNC Plasma 5 years ago so what worked and what didn't? A 5 year review.

This machine was built in something of a hurry in late 2018 into early 2019. I used some components I already had but purchased quite a few. The machine was built from scratch using a MyPlasma CNC controller as the heart. It is not pretty and I apologise for the workshop mess. The machine does however work well and has provided an income for me and my family for several years.

In a Youtube world full of polished perfection, thank you for an in depth look at "warts 'n all" reality. I can't think of a better example of a budget build made to answer a need, that has gone on to pay back far in excess of expectations. As the engineers used to say where I worked "If it ain't broke, don't mess with it!" Sorry to hear about your back... speaking from experience, dodgy backs are a pain in the ass! In my case, finally finding the right person to help was life-changing. Back problems don't ever seem to go away completely, but at least I have some worthwhile solutions that help me. "Nil desperandum carborundum"... "Don't let the bastard grind yer down!" 😜 👍
  • It's not pretty but it seems to do the job well so that's what matters in the long run.
