If Pat McAfee is going to go down, he’s going down swinging.

McAfee called out ESPN executive Norby Williamson by name in an explosive segment on Friday after The Post’s Andrew Marchand wrote a column opining that McAfee needs to get better TV ratings if his show is going to be a headache for ESPN in the wake of the Aaron Rodgers-Jimmy Kimmel dustup.

On his show on Friday, McAfee spoke to co-host A.J. Hawk about how the show rates on various platforms and proceeded to go off on Williamson, ESPN’s Executive Editor and Head of Event and Studio Production and a member of company president Jimmy Pitaro’s inner circle.

“We’re very appreciative, and we understand that more people are watching this show than ever before. We’re very thankful for the ESPN folks for being very hospitable. Now, there are some people actively trying to sabotage us from within ESPN — more specifically, I believe, Norby Williamson is the guy who is attempting to sabotage our program,” McAfee said.

“Now, I’m not 100 percent sure. That is just seemingly the only human that has information, and then that information gets leaked, and it’s wrong, and it sets a narrative of what our show is.

Pat made the huge mistake of joining ESPN in the first place.

Props to calling him out by name. Most would just say “sabotage from within” and not name names or not even say that at all. Love that he’s willing to do it on air

You wouldn’t ever see another ESPN personality say anything bad about ESPN on ESPN. Goat. 🤣🤣🤣

Clearly, a guy who isn't afraid of his relationship with ESPN ending. I think he feels confident he can do it his way and still make a good living( even if the ESPN contract is terminated). Kudos to him and wish we were all able to call out superiors that stink. Very few of us can successfully get away with that.

We told him. As a Pittsburgher, it was like watching Heinz getting sold to Kraft

It's funny, I wondered if ESPN was acquiring the show to simply bury it, vanilla it down to lose interest and knock out what appears to be competition.

If ESPN is going to pay Pat just to leave i won't be surprised at all. Win for Pat.

Should have never joined corporate ESPN.

Rodgers rooted out a rat in GB. He intentionally gave some misinformation to someone involved with the team (and only to that person) and when it was leaked to the public, Rodgers knew who the rat was. Rodgers is smart that way
  • Mad respect and SHAUT AWT to Pat …..standing up for yourself and your crew!!!!!!

Amazon or Netflix can pick you up, they’re trying to get in the sports business. Your show has the leverage
  • Man, keep doing what you're doing don't let a hater change what's great about your show.

That's on Pat. EVERYONE warned him this would happen.
  • Good. Call them all out. ESPN knows they need McAfee more than he needs them.

You're never wrong if you do what's right. Love the show!
