Imagine getting to the beach in the Weeping Peninsula to admire the sunset and suddenly a boss sea-monster emerge from the water if you get close enough

Vyke being the main character that should've been the Lord is awesome, and sooo reminiscent of Artorius being the "failed chosen hero" and on the cover art for DS1: Prepare to Die Edition.
  • @_tonibird
speaking of vyke, I thought it was interesting how his armor was clearly burned by the three fingers, when you yourself have to take your armor off to see them. maybe vyke's reluctance to remove his armor had something to do with his eventual failure (possibly because shabriri's influence was so obviously marked on him, or because the three fingers didn't make direct contact with his skin), and now every subsequent aspiring elden lord is required to remove their armor because of that.

It would be cool if elden dlc included sea locations. Perhaps the sea could be the seat of death since Goldwyn is mutated into a sea creature in death.

This game is like a puzzle that you slowly piece together. Love it.

We actually used cotton with my friends during our run to skip most of Caelid's divine tower to the bottom pretty early on. That got us some really nice armors in the beginning. It basically happened because a friend of ours discovered you could parkour up to the tower and then go down, but he reached an area where he had no idea what to do, so he figured he could use the cotton to try and reach a lower area by jumping and it worked. It was one of those clever discovery moments that make Elden Ring so special.

I remember in Radahn’s arena you can see a big ship shipwrecked out in the sea and I always thought how cool it would of been if after beating Radahn a portal was unlocked and you could be teleported to that ship and then maybe fight a sea monster
  • I'm a little reluctant to place too much weight on George's "5000 years" figure. It did sound to me more like he was just plucking a big number out of the air that sufficiently gets the point across. Still, it's cool to have it confirmed that his contribution was largely in establishing the history of the Lands Between, that's definitely what I imagined his role was going to be. I do still wonder how much of the backstory we learn from the game was directly from him and how much was developed from the broad strokes he laid down. All of the family tree stuff for Marika and Radagon sounds like it's right up his alley, with all of their strategic marriages and separations and the complications that arise from them. I'd also be surprised if Godwyn's assassination wasn't one of his ideas too, especially with how Ranni is involved in it.

Crazier than the Yura summon to me is that you can summon Sellen to fight Red Wolf of Radagon in Raya Lucaria, but you have to be at the part of her questline where she goes to Raya Lucaria. So you have to get to Azur, kill Radahn, etc ALL without having gotten half-way through Raya Lucaria.
  • An Elden ring prequel before the shattering would be so good! The art of the places were gorgeous!
  • @ixfeisty
Thought I’d point out that you don’t have to die to Agheel. You just need to start the battle, run away, then talk to Yura for the same results.
  • @VaatiVidya
So soon I'll be uploading some 60s "Lore Shorts" on the channel. I personally don't like watching "Shorts" (I keep getting recommended garbage content), but I'll admit the format is fun to create, and it's good for me to try something new. I feel so out of touch with this algorithm-based, shorts-focused version of YouTube, haha. I miss the old days when the subscription feed mattered more. Guess I'm getting old -.- Very keen to hear your feedback once these start.
  • @JanbekOzturk
We know exactly what happened to Vyke, he got grabbed by the "Three" Fingers. That's why his armor shows burn marks exactly where they appear on the player when the player is grabbed. The real mystery is how Vyke managed to open that door with his full armor suit on so that the burn imprints are on his armor and not his skin. I could only assume he is found in the Consecrated Snowfield because he was trying to get Melania's needle in the Haligtree, like we would to avoid "Lord of the Frenzied Flame" ending.
  • For the Yura summon. You don't have to Kill Neirius first. You find Yura near the seaside ruins or whatever site. He warns you about the dragon. If you die to the dragon and go back to him THEN you can summon him
  • @miracleofsound
A sea-based DLC could be really interesting. Sailing to around to explore various islands...
  • I love when Fromsoft throws characters like Vyke in the game. it makes it feel like we were supposed to be just an NPC who got lucky.
  • @EVC1094
I found GRRM’s 5,000 year comment to be more of an approximation or a symbolic representation that a long time has passed between the beginning of Elden Ring’s lore and the present instead of being indicative of an actual length of time. Still, it’s interesting to hear him talk about it.
  • @mattcollins3591
Just started this journey two days ago, I can’t get over the world building. limgrave is gorgeous and I can’t progress because every time I go to the main objective I get completely side tracked and taken to another new area.. it’s awesome

1:05 I wouldn't doubt you for a second if you said that mermaid was Godwyn! The unnerving round face, long winding body, wide frilled fins and tail. Forlani's map had to be a direct inspiration for Godwyn's final design, I just wonder how far along his design process they were when they landed on that look. I feel like knowing that could give some insight into their intentions for Godwyn, and the relation between the sea and death
