Into the Silver River

Come on! Let's go for an adventure above and below the Silver River inside Silver Springs State Park in Florida, USA! The Headspring of the entire river is Mammoth Spring and produces an awesome quantity of 99.95% pure, crystal clear water. There are several other tributary springs a short distance downstream that combined, produce approximately 820 cubic feet of pure water every second of every day! That's a First Magnitude spring! As a group, Silver Springs is the largest Artesian spring in the US and probably the world. The wildlife that is attracted to this area is both diverse and prodigious. Manatees, American Alligators of all sizes, Rhesus Macaque Monkeys, Several kinds of turtles, a full spectrum of fish and birds including the Bald Eagle, Ospreys, Red-Shouldered Hawks, Kingfishers, Ibis, Cormorants, White & Blue Herons, Cranes.
