  • The man most worthy of the crown is the one who does not want it. Morgott thinks nothing of himself or his own glory. He sees his role as King of Leyndell not as a privilege but as a duty, and he takes it upon himself to bear its heavy weight on his shoulders forever. He dresses in rags and hides his identity from his people, who would despise and reject him if they knew who he was, even though he is the royal blood of Godfrey, and has clearly inherited his father's great strength and nobility. When he calls himself "last of all kings," it carries two meanings. As a cursed monster rejected by grace, he is the least of all those who held the throne before him. But as the Erdtree's eternal protector, he will be the final king standing in its defense at the end of the world.

It is obviously Godrick. He loves his people, even Trolls so much he makes them a part of his body. He even has his soldiers go look for Tarnished, so he can make them a part of himself too! Clearly, his love for his own subjects is unparalleled. He may not be the strongest, but his heart is big enough for all of the Lands Between.

Not all of them are at their weakest, some are at their strongest. For instance Mohg, Morgott and Rykard are at their strongest during the game. Malenia is actually at her strongest too since she becomes the Rot goddess. Even Godfrey can he argued to be at his peak considering he is back from his training arc in the badlands.
  • My favorite quote about General Radahn is this: That man is skateboarding a horse AND holding back the stars, all while killing everyone he comes into contact with. And he does it from the hospice. General Radahn is a god among chads, and this fight lives up to that and then some.

We definitely fought Godfrey as his strongest self. Marika sent Godfrey and his tarnished on a long march outside of the lands between in hope that they would grow stronger as they struggle without the aid of the golden grace. So when Godfrey returned to the lands between, he has both the strength he gathered as a tarnished and his guidance of grace. Radagon might be nothing but a husk of his former self, but we then fought the literally embodiment of the elden ring (I said great will originally oops) and won. Quite safe to say that we’re stronger than all of the previous lords

Both Morgott and Radahn are mighty warriors, learned scholars and decent, honorable men at their core (at least compared to just about everyone else in this setting). But I'd have to go with Radahn on this one. Morgott is plagued by self-hatred. He hides his identity as the king of Leyndell both out of necessity and shame. And while he's well-aware that the Erdtree has closed itself to the world and abandoned it to its fate, he's so blindly devoted to the Golden Order that he can't even consider improving it. On paper, Morgott has the strength, the intellect and the temperament to rule, but all of his talents go to waste because he doesn't trust himself to upend the status-quo. Radahn's mindset is the exact opposite. He seems to seek constant improvement. He was beaten by Morgott, so he grew to gigantic proportions and became a master of war in all of its aspects. He became too large for his scrawny horse, so he learned gravity magic to keep riding him. And in contrast with Morgott's status as the "veiled monarch", it's telling that even reduced to a primal state, Radahn still inspires undying loyalty in his troops. Now, perhaps these traits alone don't make you a good ruler. But to overcome the specific challenges facing the Lands Between? Pre-rot Radahn appears to be the best candidate.

Main character for what's been mentioned, strength. We beat them all. Maybe at their weakest, but is the Tarnished at his/her peak of strength?

I'll go with Miquella. If you read the description from Malenia's armor she describes him as the most fearsome empyrean of all, I hope we get to experience it 1st hand on the upcoming dlc. Not yo mention he created the haligtree faction for those who are rejected by the golden order( if I remember it correctly) Also, to cure her sister from her affliction.

I personally think Morgott. I’m not saying that the Omen deserve to be killed or deserve the abuse they get, but that’s just the way of The Lands Between because of the Golden Order. He reminds me of Paarthurnax though, being born evil and overcoming it through hard work. I think the greatest combination would be a fully developed Morgott as Elden Lord and Miquella as the King, allowing all to flourish. Morgott has, time and again, proven that he is the most effective protector of Leyndell. With him as Miquella’s protector and Malenia as his general (or his Blade, sorry for the ptsd), this would be a nearly unstoppable force.
  • @calebgoodman3028
Miquella is the most deserving in my opinion. He garnered support from the people including the outsiders, loyal to the Golden Order but sees the flaws and tries to improve it for everyone, and literally bleeds for the sake of others. Even his sister who has a reputation for her skill refuses to become Elden Lord herself despite being qualified because she believes in him that much.

In this house we stan Goldmask and his introduction of Justice to fate (basically making Karma the ruling force of reality), that forever removed the possibility that a savage murderous brute could conquer his way to absolute power. Never again a Marika. Never again a Godfrey. Never again a Radagon, a Radahn, a Rykard or even a Dung Eater. Never again such a mound of carnage for the sake of power as the Tarnished created. An age where the good are rewarded and the wicked punished, no matter their station, strength or even divinity. No tyrants, no conquerors, no genocidal theocratic fascists. Truly, a utopia.

It's unfortunate that we never got to see more of what kind of person Godwyn was, he was able to stop the dragons and even befriend them, and it seems like he was a great king of Leyndel and Stormveil. One theory I've heard is that with Ranni being chosen to replace Marika, maybe Godwyn was supposed to be her first Elden Lord, which is why killing her body and his soul were so important to subvert the Greater Will.
  • @psychicmane7636
Godwyn he was kind and empathetic powerful yet fair and got the worst fate because of the selfishness of others we also see in the haligtree him embracing miquella and malenia the cursed demigods
  • @i-am-warden7575
I feel like i have to say this Other than Radahn allowing malenia to put her arm back if you watch carefully you'll notice the spears of cleanrot knights on his back which means he was injured heavily during that fight and he still had the upper hand in that battle
  • @haydenlindley7313
honestly if i had to pick i would've chosen miqulla as he believed in true equality for people like morgott and all the other people disregarded by the golden order imo
  • Miquella and Ranni are the ideal choices for Elden Lord, they actually saw how flawed and downright evil the Golden Order was and tried to change things. I’d go for Miquella, he was the only demigod we saw in the game that tried to improve things, even trying to help those that have been shunned and persecuted by the Golden Order.

Just a side note, anyone else notice that whenever Radahn comes back as a comet it’s from that moon in the sky? Does he launch himself with gravity magic, land on the moon, and launch himself back off of it? I think that’d be cool 👀
  • It’s crazy how even when Radahn was completely mad and had checked out he still had the willpower to hold up the stars
  • @zephyrirons4658
vyke deserved to be elden lord, the dude was the most accomplished tarnished easily aside our character. he was adored by the ancient dragons especially lansseax and was on a good pace til he somewhere along the line he turned around and went down to the 3 fingers. i wish they expanded upon what drove him there but i can only imagine it was never his intent to fall, his armor looks like he was grabbed from behind, as if he realized too late.
