Published 2024-04-24
An ink and watercolor sketch of a peaceful scene along a mountain road .
I hope you enjoy this real time video, a tad bit longer film but a nice relaxing drawing to watch and/or try your hand at.
As always thanks for watching and leaving comments, I appreciate every one.

  • I always used to worry about how to get my own style of art. One day after someone telling me 'I really like your style' I realized that I was developing my own style just by continuing to draw and paint a lot. It eventually comes out naturally!

I absolutely adore both your ink sketches and watercolors. They remind me of the illustrations in my favorite books. Thank you for showing us how you create them. I usually watch them at 1.5x speed so I won't lose your narration, or else I prefer 2x speed just to see the process.

Love the music that goes along the sketching. I find myself sketching more and more along Your videos . Very calm and relaxing. Thank You!

Great to find a new sketching channel to watch. So meditative and authentic. Wouldn’t mind watching you sketch in real time. I love long videos so I can settle in. I would also love to get some help with perspective and how to look at that in a simpler way. 🙏

I just took delivery on a Pilot Metropolitan pen and it is incredible

Thanks so much for posting this video. I really like how you are able to simplify the scenes you sketch; something I still struggle with.
  • I enjoy and learn from some "real time" videos. As a very new beginner it is helpful to see the process and timing ... I have tended to rush both watercolor and ink and wash. Thank you - lovely art and peaceful to watch as well.

I love your approach to drawing. Thank you for showing this in real time. Time lapse or sped up videos (at least to me) don't capture the process very well in my view.

I love your style and the lovely relaxed way you draw and paint.

I just discovered your channel… loving it! 🇨🇦
  • Lovely!! Very informative! I liked the info on shading on the trees. You show the paper is a pad- is it mixed media, or type of paper ? I’ve used hot press for some of my few pieces. Thanks!!

Love your work Jim. Question about the pilot metropolitan fountain pen. What ink converter do you use? Do you find yourself filling it often? I picked the pen up and love it!

Love your channel; calming and informative. What journal do you use and is it 100% cotton?
  • I LOVE your sketches and your approach !!!! I’d like to do a small oil painting of that scene- are your photos one you have taken?
