“Now they’re restoring the Flux Capacitor, which makes time travel possible.”

“The DeLorean was manufactured in the 80’s, with doors and panels. The DeLorean was known as a car. These cars are in rough shape, but a restoration can make a DeLorean look like a Restorean.”

They left out a bunch of stuff. Did they get rid of all the rust on the suspension parts, or leave it. Did they replace all the rubber bushings, shocks, bearings, etc. ? The underside of that unit looked in pretty bad shape. You could tell it had been sitting somewhere a very long time. Rust all over, including inside the fuel tank.

My first introduction of the DMC - 12 was in photographs. Sometime around 1981-82, my dad traveled to the hills of California and snapped photos of a DeLorean parked curbside LA. I’ve admired this car ever since, especially the gull-wing doors. Over the years I’ve had the privilege to get close and see this wedge shaped vehicle several times. As I’ve learned more about the man and machine best known as DeLorean, I grew greater respect for his contributions to the automobile industry.

If it wasn't for that movie this car would be as famous as an avanti.

This not a restoration, this is a tune up, brake job and detailing.

Omg, yes!!! As much as I like watching how sombreros are made, this one is way more interesting.

I bought one that was in good shape but had been sitting for 15 years. These same people went through it and changed out the rubber bushings and hoses, and the little parts that are better today like fuel pump, alternator, water pump. Since then, it’s been like owning a normal car. I’ve driven it daily for over 5 years now with no problems. Remarkable for a 40 year old car.

you really missed a prime opperunity to dress the mechanic in a lab coat and white wig... being that youre the science channel and all and for no other ulterior reasons

I can't believe I still can travel thru time even after restoring it.
  • This was so satisfying! I LOVE the Delorean and I hope to own a fully restored one in manual and with a State 3 engine one day.
