There have been a dozen murders around a lake in Austin. Is there a serial killer hiding within city limits?

In 22 months, twelve victims of drowning, all men 20 to 40 years old, but they don't see a pattern?

This was the wrong guy to interview for this story. He sounds like he is part of a cover up.
  • @jackyavaa3459
This guy saying he believes in the police department here in Austin is clearly out of touch…
  • @ricksteven2155
Austin has more than enough money to Install Cameras to watch this area 24/7 if they wanted

Well, that interview was pointless and revealed absolutely NOTHING.
  • Get off your butts and be more proactive about these cases. Stop playing with these tax payers.
  • That "expert" is stuttering hesitantly waaaay too much for me to take him seriously. Honestly, THAT many deaths of the SAME gender, SAME age bracket, SAME manner of death, SAME secluded location....that's what the FBI calls an MO. Also, ANY white man that says "he has faith in our local law enforcement"...of course HE does! He'll always be taken seriously. Also, those "internet slueths" have solved more cold cases than local law enforcement than many care to admit but sure...way to downplay citizen's concerns until you NEED them to solve these types of cases. Disgraceful!

They should drain that lake...pay a few investogstors to monitor it day and night, place in cameras. They will probably find a whole lot more bodies there. This is sad.

How high must the number get to before it becomes a problem?

Maybe they need to put a bunch of night vision trail cams, solar lamps & maybe a citzen patrol all over the place!

When someone drowns it’s pretty obvious in the autopsy findings. The water in the lungs etc… are a tell tale sign (my dad and grandad were morticians and pathologists). Unless the body has been outside in the elements so long that cause of death is difficult or impossible to determine, drowning is an easy assessment. Police are often the last organization to catch killers. They are often the most dismissive of missing persons. I think this is a situation that police have created by their past treatment of missing persons later found to be homicide victims. The public has lost trust….look up all the serial killers of children and sex workers. They are often neglected. One thing that catches serial killers—their compulsive behavior. They keep killing!

I live in New York. We have lakes and rivers and none of them have had anything like this going on. Are there accidental deaths; yes. But they are far and few between. How do they think they don't have a serial killer? That's insane. I don't think any ocean beaches have had that many deaths in a short period of time either. Something sinister is going on.

I saw a documentary about these suspicious deaths which occurred near Lady Bird Lake in Austin. I do not believe it is one serial killer but rather a group of persons working together. They are like "lake pirates". There is a big night life scene downtown Austin near the lake. Based on the information presented in the documentary, I believe certain "taxi" drivers and bar owners work together secretly targeting these men who are new to the Austin area or are in town on a business trip. The "taxi" drivers recommend certain bars. Then bar owners incapacitate these men by putting a strong drug in their drinks, robbing them of money and credit cards, and murdering these drugged men by beating them to death or by dumping them into the water so that they drown. One man who barely managed to escape told his story in the documentary. He had gone to several bars in that area and then at one he began to feel very strange after a sip of one drink. He could not speak and was barely able to walk, almost to the point of being paralyzed. He managed to stagger away from the bar and get help. He later discovered that his watch, money, and wallet had been taken. He said the next day when he had recovered at his hotel, he checked his bank account and it had been emptied - over $15,000.00 stolen. Sometimes these victims are just dumped in the water and drown because they are under the influence of the strong drug they were given and cannot swim or help themselves, cannot fight back or even call out for help. I believe the police are well aware what is happening. These incidents are not accidents, and they are not suicides. It is time for the State of Texas to clean up that downtown area and stop these tragic deaths.
