My daughter started carrots, cilantro, spearmint and peas a week ago. 🤣 I had to laugh after we hung up bc she posed the 1 pea 🫛 sprout like it was a grandkid. So proud of all gardeners indeed 🌱🎉🙂

I seriously can’t tell you how helpful it is when you drop all this wisdom! Thank you so much! And we all know Tuck deserves a day off after all the hard work he puts in! ❤❤❤
  • @nadyazawrocki
Thanks! I am loving these month to month videos of what to plant when, plus it really works out because we are in the same hardy zone! Looking forward to watching your videos year round. A big hug for Tuck- it was so gross out today- hope he gets to enjoy the cooler weather coming!
  • @Foster-dog-mom
I hope Tuck is feeling better! We have a 12 year d Yorkie that we love dearly. Lots of love and prayers for Tuck! Thanks James! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ ❤❤

I'm doing winter flower boxes and baskets planted with food! Beets, red sorrel, kale... so excited!
  • @davidcraft4919
Your advise is solid gold, JP and Tuck! I live in East Tennessee, and am on the edge of 7B and 8A. I followed your August advice, and I'm going to have food DEEP into the winter! Many thanks!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
  • @ashparker3500
Growing up, we always had a summer garden. I didn't even know until late winter last year that there are options to grow into fall and partially winter. Thank you for all your information!
  • I'm only 4 minutes into this video and I just wanted to say thank you for not just giving a general list, but that you also recommend varieties and advise on how to plant. Thank you, thank you, thank you. And give Tuck a little belly scratch from all of us.
  • Man! I am just sitting here having wine and being numb on YouTube and looked at my subscriptions and saw you posted a video. Thank you for reminding me!

I live in middle Tennessee. I know there are people in this area who will swear they can grow lettuce all the time, but in my little neck of the woods - I have yet to master growing lettuce. But it's one of my priorities. {Edit to add} It's over 100° here today. So we have to cope with insane heat now + first frost will still be the same.
  • Thank you for the tips on better germination for beets and spinach. I have been struggling with this for a while. Praying that Little Tuck is ok. He is such a cutie pie!
  • I love watching you and Tuck Your enthusiasm is contagious!! Thank you for sharing ❤❤❤ Tuck
  • I forgot my pots of parsley last year they survived the winter & grow larger this spring. Same with chives .thanks for all the tips
  • @pamelajames5767
Tuck....my Mr. Mac...miss him so much...thank you for the boxed growing post!!
  • @galesgoats
So inspiring! I'm in the process of building 3 more raised beds for winter. Last fall I added one of your PVC and plastic covers to my raised bed and it was a game changer! ❤ for Tuck!
  • Great tips, Mr . James! Love your channel and boundless enthusiasm! love growing veggies in the cooler weather. The only pests that bother them are aphids; everything else hibernates. I'm in zone 7 a/b - sort of borderline, and have successfully grown both spinach and parsley all winter with no protection. Landis Lettuce is another good variety of winter lettuce. Mulched, it will grow all winter. You can also put in Brussel sprouts now for an early harvest in spring. Annnnd if you have a carport or garage, if you grow in buckets (which I have done), you can grow cabbage, cauliflower, and broccoli during the winter. They grow slower, but they will produce. Going to try lettuce in a bucket this year, too. Just watch the weather and move the buckets to the garage or carport if it's going to terribly cold. This also works for Brussels sprouts. Happy gardening, y'all!

♥♥♥ for Tuck! He was missed, but your knowledge wasn't. Excited to check out my Fedco cart. Dying to grow/try Claytonia.
