I can't wait for my kids' kids' kids to finally be able to play Star Citizen on Early Access.
  • @hedition9346
Do another video in 30 years. Which is better? X-8, Elite Dangerous 5 or Star Citizen pre-release?
  • @om3g4888
Of all the games the ship handling is by far the best in Elite. In standard space Elite has near perfect space physics with seemless transitions between F/A off and on. The ships all handle differently based on their mass, their equipped modules, the engineering on those modules, the weight they add to the ship, and incoming weapons fire can even knock your around. In supercruise (FTL) Elite uses "real" Alcubierre principles for faster than light speed, taking into account the mass and proximity of stellar objects on your warp field. None of the other games even bother with accurate or even scientifically approximate FTL. Elite treats FTL as a physical part of the game whereas in the others its mostly just a form of generic fast travel. As for the story. Elite has lore going back nearly 40 years. It also has an in game galactic history going back millions of in game years. While a lot of that isn't in the game per se (or has yet to be uncovered/solved) it can be researched and applied to ongoing events in the game. To this day we're still working on in game mysteries that date back to the original 1984 game. What makes Elite seem shallow is just how little of a dent has been put into solving the various mysteries of the game and how little the game does to steer you into the story. While that does little to satisfy a true story mode, it opens up the back story to anyone willing to do the research and then seek out their hypotheses in game. You don't have to progress a story or line of missions to find the alien sites and begin working out what they are. Elite has a deep story and vast amounts of lore, it's just handled far differently than most other games. Instead of telling a story, the story is preexisting and we're meant to piece it together through a variety of methods both in game and outside of the game lore research. Elite has various forms of media outside the game that can be used as bread crumbs to figure out what's going on in game. In this aspect none of the other games mentioned come close to Elite's story. Ship interiors do look alike in Elite if you're only looking at the HUD. When you put on a VR headset the differences between the ships, the details put into the interior construction, and the sheet scale of the ships really comes through. When you start out in the Sidewinder it feels small, cramped, and vulnerable... when you get in the Asp Explorer you are surrounded by the glass canopy that juts you out into space, surrounding you with the views of space. Then there's the Anaconda; you can look around a see a full spacious bridge, the multi crew seats, and all the details that went into creating a bridge that is at least 500 sqr/ft. Obviously I'm a bit biased toward Elite but as someone who has been playing Dangerous since launch and the franchise since the 80s, I have to point out where certain features have only been judged on what seems like a surface level viewing of the game.
  • @battlevortex
Just FYI: Elite Dangerous does have multi-crew ships. Other players, or even NPC crew can operate systems in your ship that you designate. You can even allow human pilots/NPCs to launch in fighters from your ships and fly around if you want. I haven't tried ground SRV control, but I suppose that's possible as well for human pilots.
  • No man's sky: Spore in space Elite: Microsoft flight simulator in space X4: Railroad tycoon in space Star citizen: Wing commander with too much money. Also in space. Stupid jokes aside, I'm happy that first-person-flight-space games (wow, is that even a word?) are back. Not so long ago it seemed they would never return.
  • @user-cx5jj2yv3p
On the features of Elite Dangerous you missed out on Faction Politics which becomes a large part of the game for an interactive multiplayer experience. IE sabotaging other factions to gain power in a system
  • @garymiles484
If SC does finally get released, I hope they dedicate a station in my name "To the guy that waited"
  • @cnewtonc
My Favorite so far is X4. However, that might change if they do not keep up with the other games.
  • @aidenbortres2451
EMPYRION is like a mix of no mans sky for the survival and star citizen and elite dangerous for the ships, you can make crazy ships with a lot of complex features like x4,but is old asf and feels lonely and death, but it still interesting to add
  • @JayRacer
The ships & combat category contains too much information in one category in my opinion. It could easily be 5 categories: Ship combat, Ground combat, Ship Variety, Flight Physics, and Flight controls. I feel SC’s flight physics and flight combat is not as fleshed out as Elite’s. As a pilot, ED’s are the best I’ve ever experienced. That goes for ship combat too. If you’re wearing a VR Headset or head tracking, looking in various directions will open certain menus and options. You can truly seamlessly operate an ED ship like no other title on this list with the proper peripherals. Unfortunately, everything else in ED is just shallow. In regards to the feature rich SC, I played about 20 hours and experienced hundreds of bugs. You can walk around your ship? I guess, but I got spaced almost every time I tried to do so while in flight. In fact, almost every feature is bugged. TBF, I only tested X4: Foundations because I want VR. However, the title seems to offer so much, it’s worthwhile. Even so, I hear there’s a good VR mod for it. Thanks for the insight and perspective into X4. This is turning into a “must buy” for me. My plan was to wait until Starfield released to play a space game but X4 looks like it could very easily become my main.
  • @pukachew
Hmm might want to note X4 may soon have multiplayer ( with a disclaimer )
  • @scottjensen5905
Elite dangerous And x4 are the best. Star citizen has great graphics but that's it.
  • @jasperlit1345
Elite Dangerous has no features? In Odyssey there is surface missions to deliver items, download and steal data, assassinat people, assassinate entire settlements, sabotage production at settlements, power up settlements, power up settlements that were captured by thargoids while avoiding alien probes called Revenants, protect cargo missions, salvage missions, and even covert heist missions. There is also ground conflict zones, Exobiology, thin planetary atmospheres on planets you can land on that are very beautiful (I did not see any of these in your video so I'm guessing you may not have played Odyssey). There are 38 different ships and 6 different ship launched fighters that bigger ships can launch from a fighter hanger. There are multiple manufactures of ships that look and fly different from each other. You can purchase a fleet carrier if you have the wealth to do so, then you have your very own mobile space station that you can transport 40 of your ships with. The scorpion SRV has 2 seats and can be shared by 2 commanders (one driver and 1 gunner). Most of the ships can have multiple commanders fly along in person or via telepresence and operate turreted weapons or even use ship launched fighter to help fight in space battles. Elite also has a war with an alien race with AX combat to fight off the alien invasion. There are huge Thargoid mother ships called Titians that preside surrounded by huge corrosive clouds, just getting to the center is an ordeal in itself, and this is where millions of captured humans are being held. There are also player made factions that can expand from their home system to take control of nearby systems. Im not sure what game or maybe when you played, but something seems off with your conclusions. o7

I feel like no man's sky has so many things and less survival.. it is an exploring type game it has so much content. There are two main paths you can choose Artemis and atlas Different categories of Star ship 1.Normal ships [fighter, haular, explorere and shuttle ] 2. Exotic ships [looks cool] 3.Solar ship 4. Sentinel ships 5. Living ships Two types of freighter Dreadnoughts and capital ships Four types of space stations Normal Outlaw/pirates Anomaly Atlas 3 types of currency Units Nanites Quick silver There are two main ways to take missions Nexus missions and outlaw missions additionally you can by map from cartographer and the map trigger a mission. You can trigger missions by doing certain actions.

If you like to play with whales play Star Citizen, in X4 i can save and exit any time i want to, no forced online play.
  • @RobVespa
What are the odds that, despite having more money than any other video game in history, Star Citizen will go bust prior to development being completed (whether or not it's released)?
  • @calebmacdonald1993
Hey bro, i liked your review, can you do a review of Star atlas, i know its still in development but id like to know your opinion.
  • @stevieboymkii
Well compared. Would you ever do a similar comparison between classic space games like Freespace/Starlancer/Tachyon/Independence War and the like?
