Living in my van for 1 year, the good, the bad and the ugly!
This channel is all about my personal journey as a Full Time Van Lifer with a dog called Rupert and complete beginner trying to build a YouTube Channel. In May 2023 my landlord gave me 60 days notice to leave my rented house. Long story short, I couldn't find a suitable property to rent. I only wanted a small flat but because I have a dog (Rupert) none of the landlords would accept me. So, with time running out I decided to move into my small Citroen Dispatch Van temporarily until I could find somewhere for me and Rupert to live . After 5 months in my tiny van I decided that I loved van life but needed a bigger van, so I got one! Follow me as I re-invent my life, my work, my relationships and my mental well being.

Your video is very inspiring, I look forward to the next one and I’m your new subscriber.
  • Good to see you doing well Kev. Now about to do the same at 67. Sick of throwing £1200 a month into a rented house. Spent the last two years getting my van ready with everything i need and now gonna take the plunge.
  • By the time that you have sorted everything out and are finally free to travel, you shouldn't be far off getting your state pension. That should cover the costs of running the van and a few hours working at something, will ensure that you have some put by for repairs and emergencies. No more house bills to pay is most of the battle won.

I retired two years ago and now living on social security. I was traveling in my truck and pulling a trailer that I lived in for about a year but I didn't like towing so I rented an apartment sold the truck and trailer, and purchased a Ford Econoline Van that I am currently converting into an RV. I plan on hitting the road again in about 3 months full-time nomad, free camping, and seeing all the things I never had time for while raising my kids. It's go till I drop for me. Good luck to you and have fun.
  • Hi kev I moved to Spain to live in a caravan no regrets after living in the one house for 30years . Want a van now just me and my dog . Glad you've found a way through 😂

I admire your attitude. Gratitude keeps away despair and resentment.

1 month into "vanlife" I knew I was never going back, 5 years later and it could not have worked out better. I have all the comforts, few of the bills and none of the stress of our regular modern life of servitude to the dollar. Instead I have plenty of free time in its place to look on at the madness of our civilisation while it chokes on itself....

3 years and 1 month of 24/7 van life for me so far. I don’t miss living in a house.
  • @Willzivanlife
Great to hear everything’s working out for you.. Vanlife for sure is a better life and meet amazing people.. Hope all your wishes and dreams come true my friend 🤟
  • Thoughtful analysis Kev. Your channel grows because you're so open and realistic. It's a refreshing change from all those who make this life and their vans seem so perfect. Real life is people like you - and me - with our imperfect self converted work vans. 😊😊

Work to live not live to work. Enjoy the time you have and give Rupert extra pets from us.

Well done, what happened is you stepped out of the box, freedom. Your vibration has become raised and older friends are lower, newer ones match your frequency
  • You are much happier because you are following your true self, to my mind.
  • @scoutfinch47
Reflections and honesty make this video brilliant. Thank you.

Be happy. You did what was best for you and your dog at the time. Walk by faith not by sight. Have a safe blessed peaceful day. Shout-out from Ohio
