Rule No. 1; Never never never go with the inspector supplied by the real-estate company. Their interest lies with getting a commission after the sale of the house. 30 years in construction, how many times must I say this?
  • I respect people who are honest, develop mastery of their work and have a great work ethic. You can trust that they're doing the best work possible. Kudos to Holmes, Damon and all those who worked on this project.

I never comment on these videos, mainly because its just a watch and go. However, this video has brought me so much joy that i just had to comment. To see the kids so happy after their home had been fixed and to see mike and his team put all that work in, just made me so happy. What Anna said is true; its now a home. and just from me watching behind my screen i can tell that its a home, and it feels like one too. Thanks for uploading !
  • Mike, Damon and the entire team Blew it out of the park again. I am very proud of the joy you give to these people who got the short end of the stick. Believe me when I say that I got teary on several occasions during this project. Thank you again for the awesomeness.
  • The husband loves the house in spite of the required substantial repairs. He would have had to get the price lowered by maybe at least a hundred thousand dollars to pay for the steps, rewiring, plumbing, rebuilding the basement and part of the roof. The seller probably would have waited for another family to scam instead. If a seller is that deceptive with an obviously crooked home inspector, it’s better to walk away. Such a disastrous home could have destroyed this family. They were blessed to be rescued by Holmes from a bad purchase and to have a really nice house in the end.
  • Excellent episode! I love watching Holmes and his team fix and make beautiful previously crap work.

Oy, John's deep voice is great. You all do such good work and you teach as you go. Love it, man.

In spite of everything that is so WRONG in that house, I LOVE those Kitchen Cabinets ! I wish I had some like those in my Kitchen ! They are Beautiful !!
  • Mike & his crew turned a house into a home. And look at Anna's face at the end. In the beginning, you could see the stress in her face and at the end it was gone!

Great Job, Mike and All the different crew members. Before and After is Fantastic. On all these different projects, I would like to know how long some of them took to complete. Maybe that is something you can share. Again, Great Job, Mike and Crews.
  • Mike and all his fellow workers have done an Amazing job on this house!! A lot of experience and knowledge went in to this house because the original inspector had missed so much of the wrong doings done to the house
  • Having lived in a house with very similar problems I really feel for the family, however they have Mike to do it right.
  • When I bought in 1996 , the inspector missed so much that I saw , biggest miss was support beams cut to run forced air heat in crawl space. Replaced those in first reno when putting a basement under house .
  • Great job Mike, also the people in Meaford love the job you pulled off there and ran.
  • It was a good thing that Mike noticed a lot of things do not make sense such as front porch stairs, basement layout, roof, etc. The previous inspector ignored the dangerous stuff and should’ve been fired for putting the family in harm way. Mike, Damon and the crews worked together to make everything right and safety.
  • Another poor home owner who got the home inspector by realtor. It should be obvious that if the person who is selling you something also refers to someone for an inspection, think is there a conflict of interest between you and the guy who wants your money ASAP 😢
  • Never take your real estate agent's or the home seller's recommendaton for a home inspector --- they have a money motive for misleading you.
