A little about me:
My name is Avery, I'm 25 years old and I live in the midwest (USA). I live with my boyfriend with no children and a seven-month-old shih tzu. I make a gross salary of $52k a year and have $19k in student loan debt. My channel is all about my financial freedom journey, going from a low-income childhood to a (hopefully) financially prosperous adulthood.

  • Fan of someone picking up your grad school tuition !!!! I would either pay at time of semester ( find a low cost on line grad school) ( I got my BSN that way ) now it was much cheaper to go to school when I went ( graduated 2013) hubs got reimbursed for school after he submitted his grades and his company paid for all of his tuition ( no books or other expenses ) with agreement to continue employment for 5 more years ! I love ALL the updates, chatting, explaining!! Yessss! So sorry you’ve been feeling a lot of feelings 😔 I know what you mean, I start to feel so overwhelmed when there’s so many things going on at once, especially financially. So glad you were approved for the procedure, that will literally be a weight lifted off your shoulders 🤭 Work will figure things out. Hopefully Cece does great and has a quick recovery, Wishing good vibes for your Colorado trip, and I’ll be praying for your surgery and safe recovery as well. ❤ Would definitely love the cruise & first year of Cece videos. My 3 kids want a puppy and I’m like whoa whoa whoa they’re a lot of money 😂. Hope to see you soon ❤

I love your life updates! I really hope you don’t feel bad about taking time off work for surgery esp given that yours is medically necessary and you are dealing with the very real time constraint of turning 26 🤣. When I struggle with feeling bad about planning to leave my team (although Ik I will not struggle at all taking PTO for my cosmetic rhino bcuz I’m just looking forward to it so much) I remember that it’s an organization’s job to design for resiliency. Given that companies can layoff ppl right in the middle of big projects, I don’t think some temporary time off is really gonna throw such a wrench in their plans. Haha was the word you were looking for wavering?

Oh I feel you on the pet thing. Last fall it seemed like we were spending money on vet bills left and right when our dog got sick 😞 Short story, long I hope everything works out with the procedure! It sounds like you are on the right track 😊 I’d love to see the cruise cost video!
  • Ugh, I'm so sorry, your 2024 sounds like my 20s and 30s so I totally feel you 😔 Both of my pups were rescues and Emmett, my oldest one, ended up having a really bad case of mange that we had to get treated multiple times. It was so expensive, not just the medical treatment but also the food that I ended up buying for the extra protein to help him heal faster. They are so expensive but so so worth it 🩷🐶 I love the life updates!! (Waffle-ing is a Brittishism, apparently, you're totally using it correctly) I 100% feel you on the not wanting to do anything after work! I just had to run to CostCo tonight after work and that meant dinner was Chipotle on the way home because I can't both shop and cook on the same night 😂 ... not this month anyway! On the pile of money thing, totally do what works for you! Just a suggestion, though, have you tried separating out the categories into weeks? Maybe not like I do it if you don't want to come back and fill the categories every week but maybe something like a Category group for Food and then under it Week 1 and putting 100 in that line item and then Week 2 and 100 there and so on? Nathan has a spread sheet and that's how he does his monthly paychecks.
