I Ruined Evolution With Too Much Damage

It's all about creating a creature that can defeat the others and upgrade itself in the process. Naturally lot's of damage seems like the best way to do this. I manage to design a creature that can inflict a ton of damage and take very little in return, as long as it's very fast. Eventually I decide to try even more damage while sacrificing speed and it all falls apart.
