The 2024 Mazda MX-5 ($34,900 starting in Canada, $28,985 starting in the US) has been slightly updated for this model year, seeing some styling tweaks and a new steering rack among other changes. It still has the same 181 horsepower 4-cylinder engine and a staggeringly low curb weight, but have the updates made a significant difference to how it drives? And is it more desirable than its immediate predecessor despite the minor price increase? Thomas and James are excited to find out! We hope you enjoy the episode! And then subscribe, silly.

Big thanks to Nathan for letting us feature his 2023 MX-5

Patiently waiting for them to add the Land cruiser jump to the intros
  • @ASpookyBucket
Please never remove the clip of james hitting his head on the door from the intro

I'm just glad that Mazda hasn't forgotten what this car is about and thankful that they can still make it safe enough to sell in U.S., where the goal is obviously for everyone to drive an M1 Abrams while complaining about the price of fuel.

The production quality of your videos just keeps getting better and better. Throttle House is, hands down, my favorite YouTube channel about cars.

I'm 6'4" and I LOVE the MX5. Had one in Japan with pop up headlights, leather seats. Phenomenal touring car on phenomenal touring roads.

How satisfying is the video transition from Thomas to James using the shifter? WINNING by the editor!

James's wrap color not being a factory color is a true disservice. I hate every manufacturer is nearly only doing grayscale colors for their entire lineup. Great video!

As Todd at Everyday Driver might say. The color pallet for all MX5s should come from the contents of a Skittles bag.

I have a 2016 ND, I gotta say I’m extremely into those new lights. I’m also so glad almost every video I’ve seen on these cars is overwhelmingly positive. I am in love with these cars, they’re amazing

Emerald green paint with a tan interior and I’d buy one tomorrow

My friend has the 2016 160bhp model, I said to him back then when I first tried it out - it is pure therapy, cure for depression :) Dream car
