  • An important note: many people are pointing out in the comments that Vietnam fought the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia-this is correct but after the Vietnam war. When I refer to the North Vietnamese/Viet Cong supporting the Khmer Rouge this is in 1970 before the end of the war, in the wake of operation menu implemented by President Nixon.

Vietnam is no joke when it comes to defending from invasion, i mean it repelled some of the strongest armies of history.
  • how vietnam managed to endure chinese domination, french colonialism, and us imperialism is beyond me. what a country.
  • Having lived in Vietnam for 6 months, learned the language (and still continue to do so), and talked to a lot of Vietnamese from all aspects of life, I gained a whole new respect for this wonderful nation. They have endured so much yet kept such a peaceful and welcoming mindset. Vietnamese people are among the friendliest and hospitable people I've ever met! Tôi yêu Việt Nam, con người Việt Nam và văn hóa Việt Nam.

On this rainy day in 2023, I randomly typed Vietnam history on youtube search, and I am so glad this video popped up. I am Vietnamese, and I feel ashamed to say those boring history lessons I learned back in school did not help me retain much of the knowledge. But your video has amazingly captured everything so succinctly and perfectly. I am proud to be a VNese now living in Canada. My country is the best, with breathtaking landscapes, friendly people, mouthwatering food and unbreakable spirits!

Vietnam is always in my heart, the best place I ever been, I have a deep respect for all what vietnamese people fought to be what they are now, it makes me feel proud, I hope that one day my people have success of achieve unification once and for all like vietnamese did. Greetings and respect from Argentina.
  • The Vietnamese are one of the most bravest and most resilient people in the world. What they had to endure to keep their country independent is absolutely amazing and deserving of respect.

I am not from Vietnam, but I have to say thank you so much for making a video on the Vietnam's full history. Normally, students are taught more about the Vietnam War than the history of the country. In fact, I barely knew anything about Vietnam until I watched videos about it and took a look at Wikipedia. So in other words, thank you for teaching me more about a country I did not know much about!

Respect to Vietnamese people and warriors from Algeria 🇩🇿. For the record, the Victory of Vietnam war against the colonial France in 1954 under the leadership of Ho Chi Minh in the battle of Dien bien phu was a great source of inspiration to the Algerian revolution because in the Same year the war of liberation against colonial France started in Algeria, 7 years later we gained our independence. Huge Respect to Vietnam 🇻🇳.

I'm from Vietnam, I'm so proud when seeing positive comments about my country and my country myself. Loved this!
  • Really been interested in this lately. My grandpa fought in the Vietnam war as a soldier for the US Air Force and I recently started dating a girl who’s family is from northern Vietnam, it really has opened my eyes a lot being around her and hearing her point of view on the war and the current state of Vietnam. I really wish they would teach students about the war in the US so we can learn from the horrible events that took place but everything about it is just swept under the rug. I think it is amazing how Vietnam survived Chinese and French colonialism and also an invasion from the US. I’m gonna spend the next few years of my life learning the language and I will eventually travel there
  • I have never heard about the Trung sisters, but by God am I glad I did. I think I'm starting to get interested in Vietnamese history. Greeting from Malaysia

and in every game or movie the Vietnamese are supposed to be the monsters and villains of the plot while they where the people that bleed for their nation.
  • @zoobafornow
I'm Chinese. Mad respect to vietnamese. Throughout the history, Vietnam has defended yourself from some of the most powerful empires. China, Mongol and the U.S. You have maintained your identity.

Nicely presented... I live in Thailand and been to Vietnam/Laos/Cambodia many times. While in Phonsovan/Laos a few years back it was really sad to visit some of the mine clearing sites - Laos the most bombed country that was never at war. When Vietnam opens up (shortly please) I am flying to Hanoi - buying a scooter and riding Indo-Chine for about 8 weeks. This will include My-Lai : site of the U.S massacre of the local village there. (I read the book years ago). Vietnam is such a welcoming and great place to explore.

I fell in love with Vietnam after spending a month and a half in hanoi, an incredible city. Now 18 months later I'm moving to hanoi indefinitely. Looking forward to learning more of the culture.

There are many positive comments about our country. Thank you for loving Vietnam. For Vietnam, brothers in the world are all one family. Vietnam still hopes for peace around the world and considers each other as one family ❤️
