A slightly different video from my usual content, but please give it a watch.
You could personally help us make a huge difference to the future of falconry in Scotland.

Now at a critical point in proceedings, we need you to stand up and show the Scottish Government how important it is to allow eagles hunt freely in the Scottish Mountains again!

You do not need to be a falconer to contribute, and you can sign wherever you are in the world.

Simply watch the video and sign the petition to be an active part of saving this unique form of falconry:

(Scroll to the bottom of the page)

You can read about the full journey here:

We are so close to protecting an important part of our world cultural heritage. Please help us secure a future for Scottish Falconry.

Thank you everyone - you are amazing!
Take care,
Amy

I wish your organization Godspeed in the very best of luck and success! it is just!
  • I do not keep birds but I do keep tarantulas and, very similarly, arachnologists have been able to make fantastic discoveries about spiders and other arachnids from their captive-bred counter parts. There is a reason animals belong in their individual ecosystems; every animal and every plant plays such a large role in its continued survival. These birds should be able to hunt prey that is natural to them. Honestly, the hare population graph really got me! What an absolutely massive oversight.
  • Signed to petition <3 I hope you and the others falconers can show others in power just how meaningful nature is.

I don't live in Scotland but signed it anyway, good luck to you. I love your birds and the way you care for them.
  • I signed and confirmed my email. I truly hope you get all the signatures you need. The conservation work you do with the birds is so incredibly vital. I was really shocked to hear how far off they were with their numbers. Good luck 🍀

Bird lady needs help bird lady gets help. I've no clue how to do falconry but your videos are fascinating and have often warmed the hearts of me and mine. Petition is signed. Good luck to you all!
  • I signed the petition and sending all hope and prayers for it to go through. The work you do in the preservation of all these beautiful birds is truly amazing and inspiring. Best wishes to you and the whole community of falconers. 💙

  • Amy, I'm from the USA and have always been fascinated by falconry. I have signed the petition so the beautiful birds can fly and continue an ancient way. Plus, I hope that Alfie will be able to enjoy life with the wonderful birds. All the best.

Signed! I don't understand why governments make laws without full knowledge of what they are impacting and this pertains to so many categories. I wish you all the best in your quest to protect this practice.
  • @6falconsue
I never sign petitions--but I signed this one. Best wishes and good luck, Amy. (I have Scottish ancestry on my father's side, btw.) Please keep us posted when you can.
  • Signed! For all the joy you have brought me over the years especially Boop! Thanks for everything.
  • @Rags2Itches
Amy I will sign this petition. The cause is logical and just on the part of the Falconry Community. Keep fighting for this as it seems obvious that the law was made without even considering the birds. Part of my family heritage is Scots from my father's side. I'm immensely proud of it.

Good luck and God bless these magical birds.🇺🇸

Thank you for bringing this to my attention Amy, Signed from Australia. Cheers, Leo.
  • Absolutely beautifully done Amy. You have at least one petitioner from Australia.
  • In Montana (US) where I live falconry is legal you just need to get a permit and a falconry license. Just a sad that Scotland hasn't put anything similar to this into effect. I signed the potions and hope things get better. Great video to bring awareness to the situation.
  • Signed for you, the other falconers, and all of your birds. Thank you for sharing this important issue. You and Barry have presented it in a very intelligent and rational way. I do hope the Scottish government recognizes this and, in turn, responds in an intelligent and rational manner and allows these magnificent birds of prey to continue to fly and hunt as they are born to do.
  • Signed! Whether they are wild or trained, these raptors are magnificent creatures which can bring so much pleasure to observers as well as falconers. A former colleague of mine (in the teaching profession) used to organise a falconer friend to bring his Harris hawk into school as part of his "syllabus" for the teaching of the book "Kes". This was always a huge hit with the pupils!
