Hi folks welcome to another episode that I managed to squeeze in during the holidays šŸ˜ƒ

Thanks to the commenters and folk that share these on, theyā€™re intended as light hearted entertainment, some are absolute crackers some a bit more serious. I love the model railways, I love filming them going about their business and I love chatting about them. No one in my house is interested in listening to me chat about them, hence I chat to you guys. Feel free to ask any questions.

The intention of this channel is to come at a different angle from the usual and do my own thing which may or may not be everyoneā€™s cup of tea.

It gets me some peace up here in the loft though so Iā€™ll keep it going. I only have a small fleet as theyā€™re all the new sound fitted models and itā€™s a new hobby so donā€™t expect a different loco in each video. Hope you like this one, cheers! Dave

  • Don't ever change Dave your videos are brilliant. Great job weathering the wagons. Cheers Deano
  • Hi Dave , yes I still here right to the end. As Charlie at Chadwick Railways said, ' It's your layout ,you do what pleases you. I think they look great. I have watch some video's of full size trains and they have dirty ones with clean ones in trains.
  • @ianobrien6908
Good man Dave, great update. As Roger Rabbit says "To infinity and beyond". All the best. Ian
  • I have just returned from a weekā€™s holiday in Yorkshire and had my breakfast watching this video. There is something really delightful about watching your layout and listening to your ā€œwaffling onā€. It has been a great start to my day. You have done some fabulous work with weathering those wagons, they do look great. Having created this amazing layout with all the detail I am not sure that you can keep saying you are new to railway modelling! Thanks for another top video. Keep up the good work. And please keep that class 66!
  • Very informative video Dave all I can say thank goodness I don't dabble in DCC but I too has a Accurrascale Class 50 on order and class 57xx looking forward to when they arrive
  • weathered wagons look fantastic mate. Some are indistinguishable from the real thing. A bit like mine really šŸ‘€
  • @going2thedogs
Those MGR wagons look superb all weathered up. šŸ‘
  • I always look forward to seeing a new video from you in my new to watch list. You are my favourite train related channel as your spin on the story is second to none & you really bring the layout to life. It inspires me to get my layout finished so I could think up something along the same lines but probably butcher it.
  • @Ross-FNL
Axel secret agent weather-er-er Foley strikes again, wagons look fantastic mate. Very well done!
  • @mavikchen10
You can always get a Bachmann 31 i guess, almost always reliable. The weathering on the HBAs looks fantastic btw
  • You should be really pleased with your weathering on those wagons ! I will not use those decoders after having lots of issues with the ones I had. All changed to Zimo now which are, in my opinion, far superior.
  • @davew2452
Sounds as though you were doing an auto calibration of the motor control (back emf). That the procedure from ESU Loksound 5s. Good weathering of those MGRs
  • @cedarcam
Something I bought, think the Rapido APT-E has a description of this in the instructions and the same cure you described, seems it is something those chips do. I have not had it happen to any of my locos though.
  • @melkitson
Don't you dare get rid of the 66. It is a beaut and I don't care whethet it goes with your layout or not it looks special.
  • Them MGRs look bostinā€™ DOD! Iā€™m impressedšŸ‘ if you start looking at photos of the real wagons there really is no right or wrong, I havenā€™t tried adding the horizontal scratch marks on any yet, you know the ones where the doofers rub along themā€¦.proper nice work. Here at Colwich I havenā€™t been in the loft for weeks, every time I go up there Iā€™ve been sweating cobs, so much in fact Iā€™ve been selling them on via the back door to Annieā€™s cafe, makes for an interesting flavoured bacon and egg sandwich!šŸ¤¢ Iā€™m with you on the buying locos & then thinking do I really need/want themā€¦. The Accurascale 66s are cracking models, I had the most unglamorous DRS version on pre-order & it really runs/sounds great, then when ā€œEvening Starā€ became available I had to have oneā€¦ā€¦., now Iā€™m not so sure, yeah it fits my layout, but Iā€™m not the biggest fan of the real things. Probably gonna sell it on now. I think we as modellers are like magpies, something shiny & new comes out and we have to have it! Any way Iā€™m rambling now, Iā€™m off to drop off some more cobs at Annieā€™s back doorā€¦.šŸšŖ šŸ˜® Cheers John bšŸ˜Ž
  • There are at least 6 class 31s that can be ordered right now on the Accurascale website - at BR blue. I'm getting the NRM special edition. I cancelled my direct Accurascale order.
