You can see the right-left crossing becoming more equivalent in the earlier training video. Left sided crosses from Zinchenko/Martinelli to the backpost with Saka ghosting in.

Never seen Saka head the ball as much as today.

Calafiori looked good from the clips and stuff I saw abt him from the game. Hope we see him alot this season.

Great video insight into the game James as always! The match didn’t have that same intensity compared to Bayer 04 Leverkusen but a good solid performance and clean sheet. Calafiori looks promising will be interesting to see his actual main position I feel we might see a mix of LB and CB. We still lack that fear factor going forward and most of our attacks today just diluted down in that final third and I feel Merino will be a good signing but we definitely must add in that forward line whether it’s a striker or Winger. I do feel if we add I think it will be more a winger that can play across the front 3. I would love to see João Pedro from Brighton come in as his whole round game is excellent and he has an eye for goal 20 goal contribution last season in all comps he would definitely be on my list if we are not going for an out out striker. Decent-Good debut for calafiori. Looked more comfortable when he switched to centreback, understandably. Other thoughts, Odegaard, amazing as usual. Nwaneri HAS to get solid minutes. Martinelli, I don't know, this is a make or break season for him, else he'll just look like a one season wonder. Especially when his form didn't pick up even when havertz moved up front.

you can see why arsenal signed calafiori. progressive carries from LB, attracting the press, which creates space for the left winger, strong in defence, BUT, can alse see that he's not as familiar with the system yet especially compared to zinny, who looked really comfortable and in sync w martinelli. also late on i saw calafiori (playing at CB at this point) move out to the touch line, lewis skelly (LB) inverting, and nwaneri dropping to LCB. looked interesting. only happened once though maaaaaaybe our backline can look like White - Saliba - Calafiori - Gabriel when defending? Gabriel is so underrated when defending wide spaces and Calafiori looked SO BIG STRONG and SCARY at CB

This season will be more competitive at the top i think but i fancy us dont even think a striker is the position to go for unless its someone who'll definitely improve that position id go 60-70 mil Kudus feel like we are playing so well at the moment though
