How do you like your mushrooms prepared?

This was an excellent video about mushrooms. The one thing that I thought was missing was they did not talk much about dried mushrooms. They mentioned dried mushrooms, but did not really talk about how to use them in cooking. I go to Asian markets often, and Asian markets usually have more types of dried mushrooms, than American markets.
  • I love the flavor and texture of mushrooms, it's not a favorite among many, but I think mushrooms give a flavor that is unmatched.

I always thought I hated mushrooms. Only had them on pizza (which I picked off) until I ordered at an upscale restaurant where I didn't know it was part of the dish; Next to my entree was a 5-inch dark brown mushroom. Still don't know what kind it was, or how it was prepared, but it was the best part of the meal. I still never use mushrooms, except to make homemade vegetable stock. After this video, I might cook them when a recipe includes them, rather than just skipping them.
  • Very informative, I learned several new things! Thank you for sharing this with us! 💜🍄

You might want to know the difference between edible and poisonous mushrooms also.
  • I have a bad habit of eating too many of them and I never have any last long enough to go bad because of it

Use canned is my go to. Melt butter or ghee in a pan, drain the canned mushrooms, add the drained mushrooms to the pan and fry on medium heat until the mushrooms start to brown, when finished pour over steak or eat as is. I've never had problems with browning while cooking in butter.

Always buy them fresh and use straight away. I love them in soups, risotto, in a creamy sauce, as a vegetable side dish, or as an appetiser, I then stuff the caps with herbed cream cheese, if I make that I keep the stalks for another preparation - waist nothing…
  • Brown mushrooms in browned in butter and garlic then added to au jus is a perfect I don't feel well soup
  • We eat lots of mushrooms all my grand kids who I helped teach cook learned how to cook them!

Technically the biggest mistake you can make while cooking mushrooms would be cooking Death Caps, Destroying Angels, or Deadly Galerina.
