  • my mobility scooter battery did this and the supplier gave me a ridiculously convoluted way to solve this issue. your jump idea is brilliant. thank you very much for posting, ya legend

Wow , i was always scared to test the short shutoff. Seemed to work well. I carry one of those portable jumpstarts so will use that next time my lithium goes dead flat. Thanks for the great ideas !

You saved me just now, I think. I just received a couple new lithium batteries and they came with the BMS in sleep mode. They have Bluetooth as well but in sleep mode I can’t connect. I was going to buy a charger that will charge lithium at 0% charge, but I forgot I have a jump starter in the truck! I’m going to do this and see if the BMS wakes up and reads the actual voltage.

I’ll be sure to go through your catalog of uploads Dino once I eventually change to Lithium mate. As already mentioned by someone else your uploads are always practical and easy to follow mate Hope you are well P.S currently on holidays in QLD with family and have been looking out for your vehicles on the road lol

I love the smell of shorted lithium batteries in the morning. Even lead acid batteries.... though they only tend to spray a bit of acid as the case cracks open.
  • All good tips, I know of one more I’ve use a couple of times, an unregulated solar blanket for twenty seconds does the trick 👍🍺👁👁🙃🙃🐕‍🦺❤️🇦🇺
  • Good video mate…does the jump starter need to have lithium compatible???or u can use any jump starter like my is kings brand jump starter..thanks
  • @davecarter34
Thanks mate my new lithium bms has fallen asleep a few times, overcast days and parked in the garage, so no solar charge, with fridge running. Being new to lithium I was worried I got a lemon, now I know the trick thanks. Last night it got down 1 degree would this also be a trigger for bms sleep mode ?
  • I have to questions 1.where can I get a lithium battery monitor and 2. Where can I get one of those discharge units to test battery capacity like you had when you tested the 200ah Lithium battery

My blinking light goes off on my ebike battery all i do to get the light back on is supply some voltage to the aux 8 amp connector and it wakes back up. Im not sure even a small amount of voltage will wake the BMS back up ? Looks like you proved this by connecting a 12 volt battery. Have you tried anything less than 12 volt battery?

Hi Phil, I have a new voltx 100ah lithium battery and a old 50ah Renogy lithium. Is it OK to connect these in parallel, given the different capacity. Many thanks. Vik
