I've lost count of the amount of times I have come back to this comic masterpiece, it is easily one of the best pieces of standup of all time!

Im Glaswegian and this is fucking gold. The fanny correcting him for saying 'Scotch'. Mate... get with the programme.

I'm a Scot and I genuinely think this is hilarious. Pulling this set off in Glasgow is just brilliant.

Balls of Steel from Stewart and great restraint by the Scottish crowd who were fantastic.

Watching the big lad in the black shirt move slowly through disbelief, horror, nascent hostility and finally comedic acceptance was the emotional core of this performance, which of course was why it was edited in - because Lee has so little faith in us that we need visual cues to understand the bit's success on a minute-by-minute basis. Great man.

Ricky Gervais describes Stewart Lee as his favourite stand-up comedian, and I can see why.... I was once fortunate enough to meet Stewart Lee, although to be fair it might have been General Mladic or Terry Christian.

I saw Stewart Lee in the background of 'Lord of The Rings - the Return of The King' where he played the role of an Orc who, at a crucial moment on the ramparts of Minis Tirith, instead of driving his crude spear through the prone and helpless body of Legolas, inexplicably turned away and strode back into the fray, never to appear again. And I thought to myself "Stewart Lee has let his elf go".

I cried laughing at the bit when one of the audience members got up and left and stew said- 'a man leaving there to go away and think about the idea of a pedophile braveheart in the privacy of the toilet cubicle'

Great crowd. Stewart Lee knows how to walk the fine line and does it well. As a Scotsman i was laughing from start to finish.
  • @Aurongroove
That was the best 10 minutes of stand up I've ever seen in my life.
  • @theambergambler1
As a Scotch man, this is one of THE funniest things ever filmed in front of a Glasgow audience, of any audience. Absolute genius!
  • @Broonzied
I didn't realise how old this was till he mentioned a heroin supper was only £2.95.

Over the years I've watched this more than two dozen times and still laugh out loud every time I see it. Along with Stuarts delivery the straight faced bearded guy in the audience just has me rolling on the floor laughing.
  • @chestypants78
A tangled web of compliments and insults has the audience laughing almost through this whole video. I bet the guy who corrected Lee on his use of the word 'Scotch' thought himself smart. Stewart is a master of his craft.

The look of glee on Stuart Lee's face throughout is as enjoyable as the material
  • @CarryLarry
"He hasn't done the most basic research" is a phrase I use to this day.

Best British stand-up comedian ever, for me. How he keeps a straight face, I’ll never know.
