The Making Of Theodore Tugboat - RARE BEHIND THE SCENES FOOTAGE (HD)

Merry Christmas! We are often asked if behind the scenes footage from Theodore Tugboat exists, and we are pleased to finally reveal the answer to be yes. The Making of Theodore Tugboat was created around 1998 to attract potential buyers for the series. Created while filming the last handful of episodes before production ceased forever, it's a bittersweet look into the crew's hard work and dedication to Theodore's production.

We are extremely grateful to those crew members for creating such a wonderful show to grow up with, for giving us the opportunity of friendship, for their forethought to preserve pieces like this video, and for their generosity to allow us to share them with the world.

Never forget that friendly little tugboat.

  • @6:30 Something that Ten Cents and his friends from TUGS could do but Theodore couldn't. I like how Robert Cardona makes such reference LOL
  • I wish Theodore Tugboat and all the characters were real and the adventures never end

6:14 This segment is great. So neat seeing the crew put so much thought into the simplest of shots. How they try and get a performance out of the limited actions of the model is great to see captured here. Also 9:11 is so adorable.
  • The fact that one's the producers of the show was Robert D Cardona who previously worked on both Thomas and Tugs is really saying something and seeing all the other stuff behind the scenes just goes to prove that Robert D Cardona saw working on Theodore Tugboat as being somewhat of an improvement over Tugs but still using Tugs as a basis

Thank you so much for this Christmas present! It is so fascinating seeing all the behind the scenes stuff and how they filmed the alternative locations and underwater scenes! Happy to see this little show still has a following after so many years. Hopefully more people will get to discover it in years to come.
  • RIP Denny Doherty. You brought a lot of joy to this world. The world is a lesser place without you.

I enjoyed this a lot in the Pre-K years. the effort of their models and sets aren't lost on me, and I actually do a lot of modelmaking myself nowadays. Great to see i'm not the only person who remembers this.

This is fantastic! This movie tv show studio looks spectacular! It just like Thomas the tank engine and friends, and TUGS.
  • How did I not come across this until a month after it was uploaded?! Regardless, I love seeing This! I love seeing Robert Cardona working on model tugboats for a TV show. I love seeing the kids getting a tour of the set (oh how I would've loved that as a kid!) I love seeing the models and what blows me away is how BIG all the models are. I've never been to the Halifax Maritime Museum to see the models but I always thought the Theodore Tugboat models were smaller than those models used for TUGS. I might actually say the Theodore Tugboat models are bigger than TUGS! Watching this makes me very happy! Thank you!
