This extended American Airgunner Round Table about gun maintenance video is brought to you by Umarex USA: www.UmarexUSA.com/

This video contains maintenance suggestions and airgun tips, many of which did not air in the TV Show as seen on Pursuit Channel. Some of the questions answered in this video are:
- How long can I leave CO2 capsules in my gun?
- How do I keep the valves in my PCP gun in good shape?
- How do I keep the seals in my CO2 gun in working condition?
- What kind of oil do I use in my airgun?
- What kind of oil do I use on my airgun?
- What do I do if my air rifle is not shooting good?

The Airgunners in this video suggest putting a drop of Silicon Oil on the seal of your airgun or on the tip of a CO2 capsule EVERY time you insert a cartridge. RWS Chamber Lube is good for this. One bottle will last a long time: www.umarexusa.com/products/rws-chamber-lube-airgun…

I am 66 years old and my dad bought me a Benjamin Blue Streak .20 cal when I was 12 years old. I never cleaned that barrel in my life and that gun still smacks the bullseye every time :)

Some barrels become more accurate as they become ‘leaded in’. Others will become more accurate after they’ve been cleaned. I clean a new gun before shooting it, then learn the gun. When I decide to clean the gun, it’s probably because a few pellets are going astray and I want to find out whether a ‘cleaning’ will correct the gun;s accuracy. After that, I decide what’s best for the type of gun. I’m only using sub 12ft lbs air rifles , but I wash and clean and lightly oil my pellets too. My regimen, adds up to accurate shooting. Thanks for the vid. It’s been interesting listening to these fellas, they’re a well of good info between them. Thanks fellas.

I'm glad I watched this before spending good money on brushes and special oils.

Wow! Gentleman, thank you. I know this video dates back 5 years, but I’ve learned so much here. I wish that I watched this before ruining my Crosman 2240. I’m relatively new to air guns, so I went ahead and used my .22 cleaning kit I used for my, well, let’s say, my regular firearms. After cleaning my 2240, gas started leaking badly. The solvents I used must have damaged the seals. I’ll purchase another 2240 and leave it alone, other than a drop of pellet oil on the tip of the CO2 cartridge each load. Again, much thanks.
  • Perhaps this is the best information I come across to maintain air gun. These guys talk with experience
  • I love Ballistol. Heck I use it on my firearms, fishing rod reels etc. It's a darn good all around oil.

EXCELLENT POINT ! 10:24 "...and if you have a silencer, these things get stuck in the baffles." I did that day #1 with a cleaning rod while pushing patch through to clean the gunk from the manufacturer (never fired, but filthy bore). The patch disappeared in the baffles and took a while to fish out. Crosman Valiant .22
  • 3:57 I'm glad this guys covered the worry I had about leaving my 88g cartage in my air rifle is new and I dint want to damage the piston or any seals. Now I'm well relaxed.

I clean and oil my airguns anyways. Just to keep them from rusting. Like i do all my guns. Airguns are just guns that shoot with air. I never treat them like toys. Just like my father taught me. All guns can be dangerous. Safety first.
  • Rick is the bomb. He's the reason I have my favorite air rifle..gen.2 25. Benjamin marauder
  • Thanks, Guy's for the great content, shooting my air gun to keep it clean, I'm on it.
  • Clean your barrel every 4 tins or so with a pull thru. Break barrel lube your pivot points. Wipe her down with Ballistol on metal parts occasionally. Orange oil your wood stock one or twice a year. Pretty easy.

Awesome I’ll keep both my Benjamin Armada’s at 2,800-3,000PSI. .22 for plinking in the backyard, and small game. Just got my .25 Caliber for coyotes, small hogs, and varmints. I love these airguns, especially durning the pandemic. Big step up in accuracy and power from my first Gamo Springer.
  • @TheBigDanois
I have a 177 springer. To "clean" it, I fire a silicone soaked Q-tip. It fits nice and snug. I have to admit it's more of an OCD thing as I never let my air rifle and/or pellets anywhere near mud or crap.
  • @bobl.1044
Nice to see the advice on Ballistol there
  • @infomutt2339
    That's very enlightening information....great job.
  • @zyriab5797
Thanks for the video, a lot of good insights. As for Ballistol, I don't know in the USA but here in Europe it's the go-to all-purpose oil for guns.
