My father immigrated to the U.S. From Italy when he was 16. He shared all his favorite music with me, Domenico Modugno and Claudio villa (Luna rosa) were two of his favorite. I can hardly keep a dry eye when I think about his last days with lung cancer. He would whistle this song even with lung cancer and copd, as the sickness progressed his whistle was reduced to a barely audible whisper. I would hide myself in another room to cry. Thank you Daddy! You did great all the way to the end! -Carlo

Sono tedesca, 50+, ho vissuto 7 anni in Italia e vi dico è un paese straordinario, anche per questa musica unica. La gente e il suo charattere, anche se ormai cambiato come qua, è particolare. Mi manca l'Italia.

Italian is the most beautiful language for me to hear. The way the words are pronounced, the way they use their gesture to accentuate the meaning. I am always in awe when I hear my friend from Milan(Lombrata) have conversations with his mother. Just an incredible language that has many dialects but has been preserved for so long.
