The point about Roy Thomas was spot on. It was Thomas and a small handful of others, like Chris Claremont, to which we owe nearly all of modern comics. These creators took, what was essentially, books for children, and fleshed out the characters and their interpersonal relationships into stories fit for older readers into their teens and beyond. The single serving stories prior to their storytelling were only static characters that pretty much defeated a substitutable enemy each issue, rinse and repeat. Thomas and Claremont created epics where characters grew and changed. Plots twisted and turned in the name of character and story development over years of storytelling, even when each issue is someone's first and must establish what is happening while also being action packed and furthering the current plots. It was masterful writing that built the universe we know and love.

I really hope Strange's trilogy ends on a happy note. I want him to be happy and be with someone who loves him.
