I watched all 24 hours of this race on Speed Channel during my junior year of high school. The Bentleys had the Joest mechanics, sticker narrower tires compared to the Audis, and stellar driver line up.

The Courage C65 JPX threw a timing belt early in the race. The engine was basically rebuilt, and David Holladay got back into the car later at dusk.
