I laughed as a kid in the 1950s at these two comedy geniuses - I am still laughing at them now at 74 years old. NO ONE can come close to their level of comedic talents.

“Wasn’t your father in the lumber business?” “Yeah, but only in a small way.” “What do you mean, small way?” “Well, he used to sell toothpicks.”
  • I never can get enough of these films, will keep watching until I die!

Oh, it's been 90 years, but it's still wonderful to watch. Thank heavens for YouTube and the Laurel & Hardy Show! Bravo! :)

This film was Ollie's idea. Ollie loved kids. Stan's daughter Lois would run and hide from Ollie every time she saw him. All she knew about him was that he beat up her dad in the movies. Ollie came up with the idea for the script to have Stan get the best of him. Lois saw the film and watched her dad (Stan) fight back and beat up Ollie. Lois was never scared of Ollie again.

I grew up with Laurel and Hardy even though these shorts were classics back then when I was watching them they are now super classics and I still good laughs with Laurel and Hardy still. These shorts are now close to 100 years old and some are over 100 years old and still wonderful today.

This was good clean programs for families to watch . I watched these and others from that era as a kid . I still enjoy watching Laurel and Hardy , poor Stan always took the blame for everything . Thanks for posting !
  • My favorite line from this short is when Ollie realizes his mistake at the end: "I must've made a faux pas!"

Around eight minutes in, I loved it when Ollie says -- " splendid it shall be. "

Stan reducing Ollie to a frightened child. Hilarious.
