Magnus Carlsen vs 2500 GM: The Difference

If 2300 is international master, 2500 is grandmaster, 2700 is super grandmaster, and Magnus was once 2882, does this mean Magnus was almost a super duper grandmaster?

When I started playing, I saw chess as a strategic, tactical game but the more I learn about chess the more I think it's a memory game.

This video reminded me of just how good Levy is at genuinely analyzing a chess game. Through most of his videos, we get to see his entertaining side, which is fine, but occasionally, it's great to see him do a 30-minute deep dive into one chess game. Hope he does this more, and for really interesting tournaments like the ECCC.

Shout out to levy for showcasing new and upcoming grandmasters. This Magnos guy seems like he’s got a bright future ahead of him.

As someone who guessed Bb1 correctly I consider myself the second greatest player after Magnus. Also I am 800 rated.

chiming in to say that i rarely watch chess videos, but the title kind of hooked me. the way you prefaced the game and got to the first few moves with stats such as "the last time magnus played this opening was 19 years ago" was definitely intriguing. once you got me to rook a to e1 i was done for. i was kind of expecting a video of a broader look at chess ratings, but you successfully kept my attention through what ended up being a somewhat normal style chess analysis video. huge props man for being able to do that

As an 1800 im starting to appreciate Magnus's universalstyle very much. He was Garry(Re1) + Karpov(prophylactic a3) + Fischer(aggressive g4 after since he had a tempo)
